Its nothing to worry about too much. Warm up your joints before you lift, grab some 5lb dbs and run your sholders through they're full rom to heat them up a bit.
glucosamine chondroitin is a good supp to help too.

Just warm up w/ a light weight. Get the joint used to the motion you'll be using before lifting any serious amount of weight. It'll get the blood moving to the area, and really helps. Lifting cold is a big cause of stiff/cracking joints.

Up your fish oil intake a bit, maybe 2-3000mg more a day. My joints felt better after upping my fish oil intake.

You'll probably have it forever. It is doesn't hurt, it's not an injury or a problem, most likely genetics due to tendon insertion points, tendon lengths etc..

My knees have always cracked, they are totally solid. Never had problems or cracking with my shoulders and both have needed surgery (they crack now) - just saying, one example of how you can't necessarily predict what part of you is going to get F-ed up but how it feels or sounds when you are 15.

I guess I forget, people do grow after 15, so you may grow out of it yet, but I doubt it unless you get to 6'2" or something vastly different than you are now. (I basically stopped growing at about 13-14).

My left elbow used to crack and pop every time I rotated my arm. I kept on lifting for a few months and tried ice/heating and nothing worked.

I finally went to the doctor and in a couple minutes he popped my dislocated elbow back into place.
    No more pain or popping.

moral of the story: See a doctor.
Many of life's failures are men who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.

Well, yes. Definitely a good idea. Even just to get checked over every 5 years or so. Try to see an orthopedic doc or even a good physiotherapist should be able to tell you know if it's really a problem (or likely to become one) or not.
