    Percent of Carbs/Fat/Protein per day

I know that your supposed to eat 1-2x your bodyweight in protein a day...what about fat/carbs. I am trying to gain weight (muscle). I put what I ate yesterday into a calorie counter website cause I was curious, and my intake consisted of 48% carbs, 29%protein, 22%fat. Is this way too much carbs?

So far today I'm at 62% carbs, 34% protein, and 4% fat.

It really depends on what kind of diet you're trying to follow.

Personally, I think too much weight is given to macronutrient percentages. Nothing magical happens when you have a nice even distribution of 40/30/30 or 60/30/10 or whatever.

Your body recognizes the TOTAL amount of macronutrients - nothing more. It's not a computer.

There's no way I could tell you if that's "too many carbs" without knowing a host of factors:

    1. Your activity level
    2. Total caloric intake
    3. ****totype
    etc. etc.

Perhaps he meant that 9% of the calories in celery are in the form of fat?

Exactly!!!! You have to find out what works for you. Keep a food log if you are serious. Otherwise just eat a good balance each day.

Maybe he wants his nuts to shrivel up?

IMO- a minimum of 1g/lb of LEAN bodyweight in protein, at least 20% of calories from fat, and the rest is irrelevant as long as you eat enough calories.
