Personal Trainers and College

Heya im a 16 yr old and I have been thinking about college seriously now. I want to learn about how people push their bodies to the limit in sports like body building and powerlifting. The only occupation I can think of that deals with things like that is personal trainers or sports nutrition. I was wondering what majors out there cover things like that. Thanks any help will do.

if you are looking for schools for your major in fitness ect. THe University of Wisconsin-La Crosse is the best in the nation, it is based on exercise and their are a TON of fitness type majors. Just look into it if you want

or if you really care to understand what's going on, study biochemistry; the techniques for training pale in complexity and can easily be mastered later, 99% of people don't understand a thing about metabolism

I think its awsome that you want to studyone of these exciting fields. If your really into human performance I would find a good school offering an Exercise Physiology Program. One thing to look for though, is some programs have a more applied focus; such that they prepare you for hands on applications in the field such as setting up fitness programs for youth programs, adult fitness, corporate fitness and so on....Other programs, usually ones from an Arts and Sciences college will have more of a focus on the science side of the field, and if your really into human performance this is the place to be...as you will get many hours in biochem and physiology and other courses that will more or less prepare you for post graduate work. But dont fret, you can still get your hands in on the applied side by going this route. Its tougher but damn well worth is. Once you have your BS, you can go on to graduate work and get into more specific areas of interest.
Good luck!
