Angry Ignorant people!!! Rant

Picture this: I am in Starbucks (Paris, France) and I have tasted the vivano shakes in the UK...not bad and what a good idea! Put whey protein into your drink!
So, I took my own vanilla whey in a little bag and asked for a skinny latte - and could they please add the whey in to the coffee. I was met by astonished faces followed by laughter from the staff.
I tried to keep my patience (thinking it's not my fault that they're so ignorant) but it was hard. I was cranky cos I had not been training due to a cold and I was trying out something new and therefore really looking forward to it and there I was being looked at as though I were completely loony...
I stated that Starbucks in other countries were already adding whey protein to their drinks - and then relished in the fact that eventually I would be the one having the last laugh when, one day, they arrived with a new drink with whey protein.
Were do people get off being so damned ignorant and blatantly laughing in someone's face for their food choices???
I am not normally this touchy - I am ill and feeling cranky.
Anyway, rant over. I am so glad that there is BB.com for normal people who UNDERSTAND!!

When in Rome, do as Romans do... Huge multinational companies globalise the market, true, but they globalize humans mind at a bit slower speed. If a thing (eg, whey) isn't all that big in a certain country (eg, France), they won't put the product out there... France is known for it's healthy lifestyle and is, statistically, the country with least overweighted people in EU... so I can well see how fitness industry still has to do a breakthrough there.

Women in Paris do not generally work out, as I found when I travelled over their recently. Yes, they are all slim and beautiful (and incredibly vain) but they do not generally work out in the gym. I visted a few gyms while over there and got some very strange looks from the men.

Uhhhhh..... you were surprised that French people laughed at you? Over food?

I guess a semi-equivalent would be somebody from Oklahoma making sailing suggestions to a British person at a yatching club.
