Cod liver oil - enough fat?
If I add a cod liver oil softgel to a meal or snack which contains no other fat, will that give me enough?
I have other sources of fat for some meals.
The bottle doesn't say how many grams of fat it has, or at least I don't know how to translate. it says it has:
68 mg EFA
46 mg DHA
for a total of 114 mg omega-3 fatty acids

definitely not
and be careful with it because you can easily go overboard on A and D vitamins which cod liver oil is rich in.

I do eat other fats, from meat, or dairy, or olive oil.
So, for example, this would not be an okay meal:
1 cup rice
2 cups veggies, or salad
1 soft gel fish oil

well it depends how much other fat you eat per day.
You dont really need a source of fat with every meal, just as long as you get your total amount per day youre good to go.
just using cod liver oil to replace whatever other fats you eat isnt a good idea, but you dont do that so youre ok.

Doing this could have serious consequences for your health!!!
Your main source of fat should be olive oil and nuts. Then you can add a few grams of fish oil to that if you want.

You need approximently 1100mg of omega 3 fatty acids a day! Switch to a triple strength fish oil supplement and take it twice a day.
