I'm considering the first package on this page.

they work..
I've used them, they did help in getting used to pullups. They are better than using pullup assist machines. I also have the ironwoody ones, if I'm not mistaken I got the "intermmediate" package. I used just the mini ones until I got to somewhere around 8 pullups for a set or two, after that I was able to bypass them all together - with lower reps obviously.Just saying you don't need to go crazy on getting many of them. Quality seems good, they haven't gotten overstretched nor is there any noticeable damage...I haven't used them for other workouts, even though I probably should...

Yeah, they work really well and are cheaper than the competition's, if I remember correctly. I've had mine for about a year and they show no signs of wear. You'll want to either wear long pants or throw a towel over the band to avoid tearing out your leg hair.
I bought them for assisted pullups but have ended up using them more for assisted dips...

I didnt even know they made such a thing! AWSOME!!! Ive got to get me some of these! The shorter the band the more assist it provides? Does it matter how tall a person is when ordering these bands?
I wonder if anyone has ever made some of their own?.........Last edited by Benched; 09-18-2008 at 01:26 PM.

Go here http://www.mcmaster.com/ and search for pallet bands
Much cheaper then any fitness store and just as good.
Get the thickest one. Works great.

I guess I thought that it was obvious.
...anyway without trying to start a war here, I guess it comes down to how they're measured. I know the iron woody bands are measured 41" fold to fold. Possibly the measurement for the other brand of band is the circumference of the band. That's the only way I could see them working for assisted pull ups being 113"...
