Beta-Alanine tingles...

So for the first time ever I took 2 g of beta-alanine yesterday and 10-40 min. after consuming it I was miserable. I felt so uncomfortable and I kept wiping my face and my arms on everything.

How do y'all deal with this and is there a way to avoid the tingles?

as hard as it is DON'T scratch yourself or anything, it'll just make it worse. try eating something with it or not taking it on an empty stomach.

I agree with ya, I don't like the BA tingles myself. I've been running Intra-Aid for the past coupla of days and am not a fan of the tingles. Reminds me a lot of the niacin-flush. I don't like that either.

It will go down with constant use of the BA. I find myself that if I take a 2g dose I don't get extreme tingles or itching anymore. I am still able to tell that it is in my system, but with no unwanted side effects.

i HATE when i get the tingles from beta-a, it is the most annoying, uncomfortable feeling in the world. It feels like i cant even get comfortable in my own skin and everything just makes it more irritated(clothes,etc.)

First it was the lips/eyebrows, then leg/leg hairs

The prickling - called parathesia - is caused by beta-alanine binding to nerve receptors, activating them and causing them to discharge/fire. Many of these nerves are below the skin, giving a prickling/pins-and-needles sensation.
