Keepin the butt?
Hey Ladies!
So, for the past few months I have been dedicated to cardio and weight training and it's been going great!!
HOWEVER, even though I have upped my calorie intake. . . I've lost my butt. Any suggestions on how I can keep toning my body while keeping a booty? My boyfriend misses it. . . . .

Cannot spot reduce or spot retain fat. All you can do is try to build some glute muscle.
Butt Lift (Bridge) - Glutes
Glute Kickback - Glutes
Leg Lift - Glutes
One-Legged Cable Kickback - Glutes
Stiff-Legged Barbell Deadlift - Hamstrings - Glutes

yeah i'd like to lose and keep my boobs personally... and GAIN a butt. i posted a while back about toning up to achieve a butt and got some good responses about lower body workouts..

Yeah, pretty much. I know you liked your butt before, but unfortunatley you cannot choose to keep fat in certain places. Look at it in a positive way though. You will have a nice, firm, tight rear end instead of a big bouncy one, haha.

In addition to all the great lifting advice you've been given, if you've been doing cardio you may want to consider changing the type you do. Steady state running is well known for making people lose their butts, while sprints, incline work and stairs can help build a a better butt.

Yes, I 2nd this. Sprinting builds Type II muscle fibers which are bigger and bulkier. Running/jogging build Type I fibers that are longer and leaner.

Yeah, my boyfriend would kill me if I lost my butt.  I think all the great muscle building exercises are on here, but I'll emphasize SQUATS. There are so many variations you can do-smith machine, front, sumo, barbell, dumb bell, jump squats. I've also noticed if you put your feet high on the leg press platform you'll really hit your butt, more so than your quads. Lying hamstring curls on a stability ball are also great-strong hammies are important too!

however, i saw on the discovery channel some African culture where its highly desirable for a female to have "fat" thighs and a belly.
so when a female turns 17 they put her in a room her for 6 months. while shes not eating, they massage\push all the fat to her thighs and belly.
so maybe ask your dude to massage all your excess to your ass, and he should be in business.
