Dumbbell Bench Press - I can't do as much on my left!!

How can I correct this imbalance?

I feel that my left arm always gives up much quicker than my right.

Additionally, I feel that my chest does not get a complete workout due to this problem - I only do as many presses on my right as my left can handle.

How many reps and sets are you doing?

Is this the first exercise on the respective workout day?

How much weight are you using?

Is it from the very first set that you get this problem?

Simple. Use a weight that both arms can lift for however many reps you're aiming for.

No one cares if your right arm can lift 5lbs more or do a couple more reps. One of the major benefits of using dumbbells is they allow you to even out imbalances like that.

Yeah, pretty much from the get go.

For example, I will get up to the 8th rep on the first set, and while I feel that my right arm can do a few more presses, my left is starting to give.

Well yeah, then do as Dom said. Let your left adapt and get stronger.

Yeah, hence why I'm using dumbbell. However, I always feel that I get a better 'pump' in my right chest.

The message is be patient and the weaker side will eventually catch up.
