Sport that promotes the most ripped physiques?
Ignoring matters such as the individual or the actual level of the team(let's just assume were talking decent programs) which sports in your opinion promote the most ripped and muscular physiques? NFL running backs defnitely are up their along with track athletes and decathletes. Gymnasts and Olympic Weight lifters who are not in the heavyweight class are up their as well. Of course we also have the martial arts and combat sports with fighters with incredible builds. A friend of mine also mentioned rowers to me, saying that it is difficult sport with really lean and jacked athletes but I don't really follow the sport so I wouldn't know. What's everyones opinion?

I would say the sport of bodybuilding or weightlifting
After that, I would say track and field athletes. Sprinters in particular. Higher level track workouts are really well rounded and usually include almost all types of training.

Anything that requires good levels of anaerobic conditioning coupled with good relative strength. Sprinting, rowing, skill positions in power/contact sports; i.e. running/corner backs in american football, rugby wingers. Lots of soccer players are quite ripped too, especially the African ones; http://www.foxsports.com.au/common/i...5970697,00.jpg
can't forget the MMA guys and some boxers; holyfield, klitschko(for a 6'7 guy he's VERY lean)

Gymnastics or Wrestling.
Watching the Olympics, I noticed excellent physiques in a sport I wouldn't have expected: water polo!

well i think the best sport to combine with weight training for a bad ass physique would be swimming, best cardio workout there is. but by itself as a sport its athletes have hideous wierdly proportionate bodies. Gymnasts! some never touch a single weight in their entire lives and they look meeeaaan

Any pro athlete's body is in tune for thier sport, even if they dont look like it. UFC fighters arent all jacked with tattoos, just look at Takanori Gomi, Fedor Emelinenko, Royce Gracie, all amazing fighters without the jacked up look. To me, asking a question like who has the most ripped muscular physique does not make sense. You should go by the individual. Plus, an olympic gymnast has a great body, but whos to say thier body is more jacked then say Sean Sherk. Its a matter of opinion in most instances.

Not sure if I would list swimming. Beside Phelps most of the people did not seem that lean or muscular. Gomi actually used to be pretty lean looking with a decent pair of abs although he was not overly muscular.

Pretty much if your in any professional sport, you some serious muscle. But the most ripped, i gotta say T.O. His workout was in ESPN the Mag (though he might not do exactly that) but it was pretty nuts.
And in person, i would have to say Mike Alstott would be the most ripped dude i have ever seen. Played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, man he was a tank.

rowing isn't very good. they are VERY top heavy. they don't do legs at all, leg's aren't needed in rowing b/c of the way they are positioned in the boat. it's almost like those horseback riders they have to be TINY, rowers legs have to be tiny to minimize the weight which means faster times...

Some examples in rugby are Bryan Habana, Tonderai Chavhanga, I guess Dan Carter, etc.. I wish I had more but I don't really spend my time looking for photos of topless athletes lol.
