14 year old benching
Hey all. I started working out around one year ago at the age of thirteen and my max at bench press was at around 90. Today, a year later, I'm maxing 200lbs at the age of 14. I'm just curious if anyone else had similar results...

with the numbers we have seen flying around in this forums history (old forums included) we could set up a national juniour powerlifting team who would absolutely smash all the records.
Are kids growing much younger these days? I was a young looking 14 year old but even so nobody I knew was big enough to be benching 200.
so what is going on? more lying or some sort of genetic mutation making little kiddies get biggger?

I am not lieing here. I'm 14, turning 15 in January. Last Last Saturday (October 27) after trying every Saturday for a month, I finally benched 200lb's (45lb bench press bar, ad 45, 25, 5, and 2 1/2 on each side of the bar). I only maxed it...thus benched it once. A full set of 8-10 reps I can do like 160 or possibly 165. Any comments are more than welcome...

ain't nuttin but a peanut
I had a similar effect...after about over a year somewhere around 1 year and two months i worked out alot and starting with a max of 75 lbs. It was pathetic but as of now i got it up to 225. My max shot up the first month really fast and at about the end of the school year i was at 185 and then now im at 225. I still dont think its all that great tho. So i do believe him cause i did the same . But right now im 15 and i starting at 14. Keep it up. But dont forget to do the WHOLE body dont just bench. WORK YOUR LEGS . DO SOME SQUATS. Work your bis, tris ,back etc. DONT JUST BENCH . PEACE OUT BROTHAS.

hmm...
Well, i started lifting at 14...back then, i was doing nothing but dumbell curls and benching, and my max bench was 110..Only last year (age 16) did i really start to understand bodybuilding...so i stopped benching for a while and this last month, i've started again...somehow, my bench has jumped from 110 to 240..but im 16...i refuse to beleive that a 14 year old can bench 200!! not because of my ego(well, partly), but because at 14 theres no way your body can be physically mature enough to be able to handle heavy weights like that...What next? are you going to tell us you have 16 inch biceps too? show a pic, then ill believe it

hey str8
YO STR8! ITS NOT TOO OFTEN I HEAR ABOUT KIDS THAT ARE 15 YEARS OLD BENCHING 205 BEING THE ONES WHO ARE PICKED ON IN SCHOOL FOR BEING WEAK. DID YOU GO TO SCHOOL WITH SUPER VILLANS? OR HAVE YOU JUST BEEN BLOWIN **** OUT OF YOUR ASS ABOUT HOW YOU ALWAYS WERE PICKED ON IN SCHOOL FOR BEING SCRAWNY AND WEAK? OR ARE YOU JUST BLOWIN **** OUT OF YOUR ASS WITH THAT LAST REPY? JUST WONDERIN.

The Physique Architect
Uh, no. I was picked on since the first day of first grade all the way up through high school. I started lifting when i was 14. and yes, people still ****ed with me even when i benched 205. I never got respect until i got around 300, don't know why, maybe cuz it's cuz i beat the **** out of a kid around that time. BTW, don't ever accuse me of lying.

This freshmen at my school last year benched 325 weighing in at 200. Hes only been working out for 2 and a half years. IAnd he used to be skinny. I see him shirtless in wrestling so i know hes at most 9%. 6'1 200 9% thats pretty damn good for a freshmen. Funny thing is, he used to be skinny. I was thinkin he took roids but i could never see any zits or acne on his face or back. Maybe he uses Accutane...
I'm not binging...I'm bulking

Aker..what are your stats. Height and weight wise.
I know there are some pretty big kids in my brothers grade right now, like 6' 210 (not all muscle, but still, big boys). Possibly you are maturing faster then the average 14 year old.

It isn't impossible for someone that young to bench that much nor is it impossible without suppliments. For example, me. When I was 15 I entered a bench press competition. I set the new West Virginia state record in that competition with a 303lbs bench. You can look as the USPF records, and it's there. I doubt if anyone will be touching that record anytime soon lol.

when I started lifting weights 4 months ago my max was 135 pounds, I was 16 years old. I turn 17 this Wednesday and my max is around 235. In the first month I went from 135 to 170. No lie. I dont really bench press much anymore, I use dumbells most of the time.

What makes you all so sure that a 13 year old can't bench 200 lbs? I'm 13 years old and wheter u wanna beleive it or not i can bench around 200 lbs, and did i metion that i have 16" biceps? believe waht you wanna believe. The truth remains!

Ok well my initial skeptisism comes from repeatedly seeing people under the age of 15 claiming over 200lb benches. All I can say is what the **** do they put in your water over there in the usa?
I only have known one person of this extreme strength who weighed 158lbs with a 295lb max and he held juniour records in my state.

BENCHING
I had results just like yours, actually i hold the record with a bench press of 230 weighing 161, at 14 and 1/2 years old. I didnt know any better so i just benched every day for about 2 months. Because I was new to training it worked for me.

I can believe it. My high school has a bunch of lifting records and a kid 5 years ago bench 275 and weighted only 185 as a frosh. Another kid 2 years ago did 270 also. Just super genetics!

one of the things that attributes to alot of young kids strengths , is that they experiment with **** they shouldnt... like at age 14 they shouldnt be playin around with steroids and hGh. There was this one kid on a football team i played who was 14, and benched 225...his team mates also said he took steroids for a while.....in my opinion, when your young like me, just take the basics, like protein glutamine, and creatine...maybe some ZMA too

why is it that I can't find a single 13-15 year old in my whole freaking city who could even do 150?
