I just finished a 12 week cycle similar to creddington, except I don't take a protein shake. I have had problems with it making my stomach upset if I do not let it settle enough. 30-40 pre-workout is a must for me or the stomach can't handle it.
I think the feeling of being puny is just from lack of food and being such a god forsaken time to workout. I feel the same way too sometimes. I can almost always lift more after 9am.
