16 minutes on the elliptical, moderate-hard pace, followed by 110 rope turns.
Workout Thoughts:
Great chest workout today. Despite working out for the 5th day in a row (a definite no-no, but it had to be done due to my schedule), did not see any sort of drop-off, and in fact felt great.
Dosage:
Took the 3 caps with lunch 90 minutes before hitting the gym.
Pump/Vascularity
Great pump today. Chest was feeling full early on, and vascularity was great. 90 minutes is definitely the sweet spot for me as far as CRE-02 goes.
Strength:
Improved on the guillotine presses from last week, added a rep or two to the flies, and everything else just felt easier than last week, so strength was good.
Endurance/Oxygen Utilization
Yet again, insane endurance. Despite, as I mentioned above, this being the fifth day in a row I worked out, I felt literally no effects or drop-off in performance, and was going strong from start to finish and felt as though I could have done even more cardio post-workout.
Recovery:
Seemed to have a great recovery from set-to-set today; normally the transistion from guillotine presses to flat db presses is pretty hard for me, but I noticed this in particular felt much easier today. However, back is pretty toasted from yesterday, especially the lower back from the deads.
Changes in Mood:
Improved focus and mental clarity. I really like this aspect of CRE-02, it's not super-strong, but it is always evident and definitely helps.
Other Thoughts:
For the best pumps, I have found I need to have at least 40g of carbs in my pre-workout meal; I can get pretty good pumps with less carbs and CRE-02, but the best definitely come from taking it 90 pre-workout w/ at least 40g complex carbs.

SMac's Making Crazy Gains w/ CRE-02: Day 19
The Workout: Lifting--Off
Cardio--Off
Workout Thoughts:
Worked out 5 days in a row, so my body, although feeling pretty good, definitely needed a break. Plus, the gym was closed today, so I didn't have much of a choice .
Dosage:
Took the 3 caps when I broke the fast.
Pump/Vascularity
N/A.
Strength:
N/A.
Endurance/Oxygen Utilization
N/A.
Recovery:
Chest is sore from yesterday, but it's not too bad, and it's in the right spots that I was targeting (upper and inner part of the pecs), so I can't complain.
Changes in Mood:
Didn't feel much today, probably because I took it very early in the morning and was in a sleepy stupor for quite a few hours.
Other Thoughts:
Did some fun stuff today, and got some things done as well, so overall a productive off day. The only thing is, sleep was cut short again, so I'm going to have to make sure I get a nice, long night of sleep tonight so I can hopefully kill legs tomorrow.Hard work beats talent, when talent fails to work hard.

Workout Thoughts:
Interesting workout today. Felt great early on, so I figured I would be able to smash my PR for squats; I did end up setting a PR, but just barely, and I'm not sure why, as my muscles felt fine I just struggled a bit for some reason. However, after regular squats, was surprised by how much I was able to put up on front squats, and set a PR there too, so I can't complain. Rest of the workout flowed nicely from there, although my the time I got around to romanian deads my glutes were already fried.
Dosage:
Took the 3 caps with breakfast, 2 hours before hitting the gym.
Pump/Vascularity
Better pump than usual in the legs.
Strength:
Got PRs on regular squats as well as front squats (which I was really surprised by), and I felt really strong throughout everything, so a great day as far as this category is concerned.
Endurance/Oxygen Utilization
Incredible. Multiple times I had to tell myself to not keep just adding sets, as my muscles felt great and showed almost no signs of fatigue.
Recovery:
Awesome, my muscles felt ready to go incredibly fast from set to set.
Changes in Mood:
Did not notice much of anything today for the first day on a workout day.
Other Thoughts:
I have noticed, and neglected to mention, that besides Neovar, this is the only other creatine I have used that does not give me any sort of stomach discomfort or cramping issues. Definitely love this aspect, I just haven't noticed it because there have been no issues!Hard work beats talent, when talent fails to work hard.

Workout Thoughts:
Mixed up the exercises today and cut down on volume a bit for a different feel and because I was getting a bit bored w/ some of the same movements...and it made for a great gym session with an insane pump, probably the best intra-workout fullness while using CRE-02.
Dosage:
3 caps, taken w/ breakfast 100 minutes pre-workout.
Pump/Vascularity
Insane pump and fullness in the arms yet again. The arms looked a bit less vascular than last week, but the muscles seemed fuller, especially the tri's.
Strength:
Hard to comment on today, as I changed things up a lot as compared to previous arm workouts. I haven't done bench dips for a while (couldn't do them at my other gym, as the plates weren't rubber coated and always slid around), so my numbers weren't as high as they have previously been, but it felt good to do them instead of cgbp. Lost a rep or two on overhead db extensions, but that's simply because they overlap a bit more with the use of the tri's long head than do cgbp, so I was actually expecting a bigger drop-off.
Endurance/Oxygen Utilization
Awesome endurance today as usual, although energy seemed down a bit, not sure why.
Recovery:
Legs aren't really sore from yesterday's session; my quads feel a bit tight, but my knees are definitely feeling it from all the squatting!
Changes in Mood:
Subtle increase in focus as usual; I definitely respond well to the rhodiola.
Other Thoughts:
Nice day in the gym, and made sure to get enough sleep last night (something which has been a bit difficult to do as of late), so hopefully that helps things progress even further.Hard work beats talent, when talent fails to work hard.

day 22
SMac's Making Crazy Gains w/ CRE-02: Day 22
The Workout: Lifting--Off
Cardio--Road run, 4.25 miles on a hilly route, moderate-hard intensity.
Workout Thoughts:
WOW. Incredible run today, one of those times when everything is just in-sync. I felt great and was focused, my endurance (both cardiovascularly and muscularly) was awesome, and my pacing was actually right on the money (usually I start off at too fast of a clip). Ran smoothly, efficiently, and hard yet did not struggle from start to finish. Awesome. Should also mention that I took a sample of Carnage (BA) which came w/ my CRE-02, which I feel was partly responsible for enabling me to have such a great run.
Dosage:
3 caps, taken w/ late lunch 110 minutes before the run.
Pump/Vascularity
N/A--although, I should mention I had some nice vascularity as soon as I finished running, especially in my arms, which looked cool.
Strength:
Legs felt strong today, and did not crap out while running up the hills.
Endurance/Oxygen Utilization
Awesome endurance today as usual. Breathing was great throughout, rarely breathed super-heavy, and legs felt great as well (I think the Carnage really helped here). From today's experience, I think it would safe to say either VO2 or CRE-02 plus Carnage would be insane for endurance, and if I ever get more seriously back into running I would definitely give this combo a try.
Recovery:
Muscles felt great, and seemed to resume my normal breathing pace after climbing hills a bit quicker than normal. Knees still a bit tender, but no issues otherwise.
Changes in Mood:
Subtle increase in focus and mood.
Other Thoughts:
Redundant, but just a fantastic run today...convergence of solid supplementation, a nice day, and a good pre-run meal made eveything click.Hard work beats talent, when talent fails to work hard.

75x8
85x6
85x6
Straight Arm Pulldowns, giant set w/
3 sets
Cable Reverse Flies
3 sets
330 Rope turns to finish it off.
Workout Thoughts:
Again, mixed results on back day. Failed in my 2nd attempt to dead 310...I'm definitely thinking that to mix it up and hopefully break this plateau, in the coming workouts I will scrap the 1 or 2 rep max for last set and instead work on some heavier sets of triples. Otherwise though, set new PRs in front lat pulldowns and rack chins (and fairly easily for rack chins too), so I was happy about that.
Dosage:
Took the 3 caps with breakfast, 90 minutes before the gym.
Pump/Vascularity
Awesome pump yet again; CRE-02 had my lats flaring out and looking full, which I reiterate is somewhat new for me to observe to such a great degree.
Strength:
Same nice gains on both front lat pulldowns and rack chins as stated above, and since I'm really trying to work on back width (naturally I have pretty narrow shoulders and upper body in general), I'm pleased with the progress. As I noted in the workout thoughts, PR on deads did not happen for the 2nd week in a row, so I need to shake things up there a tad.
Endurance/Oxygen Utilization
Endurance was solid today, but not was not at as high of a level as I have come to expect. Did not really affect the workout, but things did not feel as easy as they have recently.
Recovery:
Recovery from set to set was good. Legs feel great from yesterday, no signs of running damn hard.
Changes in Mood:
Slight increase in focus and mental clarity still.
Other Thoughts:
Solid day. I have noticed that around-the-clock muscle fullness has improved somewhat, something I did not really observe prior to this point as the process was incredibly gradual. Nearing the home stretch of the log here.Hard work beats talent, when talent fails to work hard.

BWx7
Smith Machine Guillotine Press (3 set pause at top and bottom), super set w/
3 sets, 8 reps x 70
Barbell Wrist Curls
Jump rope for 5 minutes.
Workout Thoughts:
Best chest workout I have had in a while. Felt the need to really shake things up here, so even though I typically have had issues with barbell bench work (shoulder issues plus really long arms), I decided to go for it as the first move, but being sure to check my ego and not care about weight, and instead focus solely on perfect form and feeling the movement. That got me off to a great start, and the guillotine press w/ pause at the end of my workout was a great finisher to really toast my chest.
Dosage:
Took the 3 caps with breakfast 95 minutes before hitting the gym.
Pump/Vascularity
Awesome pump today, chest was looking incredibly full throughout the workout. Got some great vascularity in the arms going as well, especially in the bi's and forearms.
Strength:
Mixed things up again today so a slight lack of continuity from last week, but did add a rep or two to flat dumbbell bench. Did not really struggle with any of the movements.
Endurance/Oxygen Utilization
Typical awesome endurance. The rope work at the end of my workout really got my heart pounding in a short stretch of time (which was the point, as I was strapped for time and needed to do some intense cardio), and I have definitely taken a liking to it as of late.
Recovery:
Great recovery from set-to-set. Felt ready to go after a pretty brief rest.
Changes in Mood:
Improved focus and mental clarity still. I think this is, potentially, a really underappreciated part of CRE-02; it's great for just getting you more mentally in-tune with your workout and less distracted without the use of any stims.
Other Thoughts:
Awesome day. The signs of a cold are just starting to manifest themselves, but I hope it holds off/diminishes...regardless I plan on finishing this log out strong.Hard work beats talent, when talent fails to work hard.

Finished with 500 rope turns; my heart was pounding pretty good!
Workout Thoughts:
Solid workout. I was feeling pretty crappy when I woke up, and I was initially planning on working out in the morning. However, after not feeling any better, took a brief nap, did some work, then hit the gym after lunch. Ended up being a great decision, as I felt much better, but still not too great.
Dosage:
Dosage got a bit out of wack today. Since I was originally planning on a morning workout, I took my 3 caps w/ breakfast...however, as stated above, I did not end up working out till after lunch, with which I took another 3 caps by accident! (forgot I had taken 3 in the morning). As a result, I doubled up on the CRE-02 today, meaning this log will only last 29 days (damn) instead of the full 30.
Pump/Vascularity
Good pump today, definitely better than normal. Once I realized I doubled up on the CRE-02, was interested to see if it would result in an even better pump, but there was no discernable difference as compared to only one serving.
Strength:
Small increases here and there again, but nothing major.
Endurance/Oxygen Utilization
Great today, although energy was down quite a bit from feeling sick.
Recovery:
Awesome recovery between sets for this workout, although my chest was incredibly sore from yesterday's bombardment; feels good though, as it is mostly in the upper region and the delt/chest tie-in area.
Changes in Mood:
As usual, felt a pick me up mood-wise and focus-wise from the CRE-02.
Other Thoughts:
Things went much better today than they should have based on how I felt. I will definitely be taking a day off tomorrow, as I have to work for most of the day and certainly could give my body some rest time.Hard work beats talent, when talent fails to work hard.

4 sets
Leg Extensions
3 sets
Hammer Strength Incline Press, superset w/
3 sets, working up to 200
Rope Turns
3 sets of 60 rope turns
Workout Thoughts:
Sweet workout today. Felt my squat progress was starting to stall a bit more than I would like, so I figured I'd shake things up and really attack front squats for a different stimulus. Was pumped with the weight I put up there, definitely a PR by far. Also did well with the romanians. And between the super short rests on the lunges and the finishing superset of HS incline presses and jumping rope, I was pretty toasted by the end of the workout. Great to see though that feeling kind of sick did not slow me down.
Dosage:
Took the 3 caps with lunch, 95 minutes before hitting the gym.
Pump/Vascularity
About average pump today, except for the calves...even though I didn't do any direct calf work today, they were pretty swole, especially during the rope work, which actually was a bit of a hinderance.
Strength:
Got PRs on front squats by a lot, and also improved my weights on romanians from last week while really focusing on form, so I'm pumped about both.
Endurance/Oxygen Utilization
Great. Down a bit with the sickness, but I still had enough to complete this hard workout and not drop off at all in terms of performance.
Recovery:
Awesome, my muscles felt ready to go incredibly fast from set to set yet again.
Changes in Mood:
Slight increase in focus.
Other Thoughts:
Awesome leg day, very happy with the way things went. I may try to focus on front squats the next few workouts and work on building them up just to mix things up since they went so well today.Hard work beats talent, when talent fails to work hard.

Workout Thoughts:
Initially very sluggish today, but once I got moving and in the groove, workout was awesome. Saw some nice improvements over last week's workout, and cardio was an absolute breeze today--felt like I was hardly working at all. Awesome feeling.
Dosage:
3 caps, taken w/ breakfast 100 minutes pre-workout.
Pump/Vascularity
Insane pump and fullness in the arms yet again--loving the arm pump, and today was the best pump thus far!
Strength:
Improved weight on bench dips, and added reps to other movements, so I was happy with the steady improvement here today.
Endurance/Oxygen Utilization
Awesome endurance today. No issues despite lingering effects of sickness.
Recovery:
Legs are absolutely killing me today! Glutes and groin are incredibly sore and tight, but I nailed them yesterday, so such was expected.
Changes in Mood:
Subtle increase in focus as usual.
Other Thoughts:
Truly just an awesome pump today, and I have to reiterate how easily cardio felt--I think mixing in the recent jumping rope, along with the cordyceps in CRE-02, has really upped my endurance, to the point where even though my legs were dead tired, it felt like I was hardly working and did not breathe the slightest bit heavily. Only one more day left of this log to go...Hard work beats talent, when talent fails to work hard.

day 29
SMac's Making Crazy Gains w/ CRE-02: Day 29
The Workout: Lifting--Off
Cardio--Run of 4.5 miles, moderate-hard pace
Workout Thoughts:
Another great run today. Endurance, both cardiovascularly and muscularly, was solid. I was able to finish strong and with a hard pace despite having to stop quite a few times in the beginning (ran into several consecutive red lights), which does not always happen.
Dosage:
3 caps, taken 2 hours before the run.
Pump/Vascularity
Oddly enough, noticed some nice veinage in my thigh as I was stretching out after the run...such is a pretty rare occurence, so I chalk it up to the CRE-02.
Strength:
N/A
Endurance/Oxygen Utilization
Awesome endurance today. Breathing was easy, and once I settled into a nice rhythm I was able to push the pace.
Recovery:
Legs still sore from leg day, but did not affect my run at all.
Changes in Mood:
Subtle increase in focus as usual.
Other Thoughts:
Great way to finish out the log. Final review should be posted shortly.Hard work beats talent, when talent fails to work hard.

Final Review
SMac's Making Crazy Gains w/ CRE-02: Final Review
I'd like to thank MST and their entire team for allowing me give CRE-02 a test run and log my results. CRE-02 can be purchased here: http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/ms/cre02.html Below are my thoughts and findings based on one month of use:
Overall Thoughts:
CRE-02 is a great creatine product. The formula is clearly innovative and unique as compared to pretty much everything on the market. Though it's hard to accurately assess the efficiency of the "enteric coating" delivery system, the effects of CRE-02 were comparable to those of all other creatines I have used in the past...despite only including 2 grams of creatine.
Further, in contrast to all other creatines I have used in the past, CRE-02 did not cause an increased thirst or any problems with cramping, bloating, etc. While these two points are clearly indirect evidence of the efficacy of the delivery system, they, along with the insane and unique pumps I received (as described below), are anecdotal evidence enough in my mind to assert at least somewhat improved creatine utilization over other creatine delivery systems.
Dosage:
I found the most effective dosage of creatine to be 3 caps, taken exactly 90 minutes pre-workout, with a meal containing at least 40 grams of complex carbohydrates. If taken sooner, I did not get as much of a pump, and endurance seemed a bit lessened...if taken later, I also did not get as much of a pump, although endurance remained uneffective.
Pump/Vascularity
By far, one of the most impressive areas of CRE-02 were the pumps. I would definitely put CRE-02 in my short list of best products for pump, along with Ragnarok and SizeOn. Although I am tempted to say the pumps with CRE-02 were better than both, it has been quite some time since I have used either the Rag or SizeOn, so a truly accurate differentiation between the three is a bit difficult to make. The greatest pumps were observed on arm and back days, although better pumps than normal were observed during every workout with CRE-02.
Now the interesting thing about the pumps with CRE-02 were that they felt different than the pump I have experienced with every other product. Though it's hard to describe, the pump could best be described as just an incredible increase in volumization. As opposed to arginine based pump products, CRE-02's pumps were much longer lasting. Further, compared to products with glycerol, the muscle did not feel "tight" or as swolen; instead, the pump was much more subtle, to the point where my muscles almost didn't feel as pumped and as large as they truly appeared.
Strength:
As with most other creatine products, with CRE-02 I was hoping for some strength increases. Over the duration of the log, I did see strength increases, which were more of the order of slow and steady improvement as opposed to large, sudden jumps. The biggest and most consistent gains were seen on lifts during back days. In retrospect, while the strength gains were significant, I will cede that they were not as impressive as compared to the best creatine product I have used thus far for strength, Neovar: Recomped.
Endurance/Oxygen Utilization
However, CRE-02 is, by far, the best creatine product I have ever used for endurance. Every workout seemed easier, and this increased ease was most notably when doing drop sets or cutting down on rest times. I had solid endurance from start to finish, and very rarely noticed any sort of drop-off in strength from the beginning to the end of the workout. Several times, I had to mentally tell myself to stop and leave the gym, simply because I did not feel tired and wanted to keep going and going.
In addition to weightlifting benefits, CRE-02 made cardio a breeze. All post-workout cardio became much easier, and I rarely found myself breathing heavily. Further, the benefits extended themselves to cardio-only days as well, where I noticed improved endurance and performance during runs, as well as increased ease of breathing. Personally, I would put CRE-02 ahead of Cordygen5 but behind Cordygen V02 in terms of the improvements I noticed in endurance.
Recovery:
Muscular recovery seemed about pretty good with CRE-02. I definitely noticed an increase in recovery from set to set during a workout as my log progressed, and many times felt ready to go a few seconds earlier than normal.
In regards to recovery from workout to workout, CRE-02 was also solid; at one point in this log, I was able to workout for 5 days in a row (something I would never want to do, but it just ended up happening that way) while still having productive workouts. Honestly I believe the biggest benefits here accumulated over time due to the inclusion of adaptogen matrix, which I am a big fan of; at certain points during the log, with all I had going on/was doing and the lack of sleep I was getting, I had no business feeling just as well as I did overall.
Changes in Mood:
Love this aspect of CRE-02. The effect was always subtle, yet was always there--a slight yet perceptible increase in focus and mood. I expected to respond fairly well in this category, as I have had past success with rhodiola containing supps, and this was no exception. Not once did I have a workout with a poor mind-muscle connection or where I felt as though I was merely going through the motions. I think this will prove to be an underrated aspect of CRE-02, but it may have my favorite aspect.
Other Thoughts:
Bottom line--I would definitely buy and use CRE-02 again, and I appreciate MST for thinking outside the box and coming up with a slightly different twist on products.Hard work beats talent, when talent fails to work hard.
