Ok, so I'm going on my first ever diet (a diet for weight GAIN, not loss) and I got the basics down, but have a few more questions.
I'm going to buy a ton of chicken and tuna (protein), pasta, potatoes, and rice (carbs). I also drink a 1000 calorie oatmeal/protein/glutamine shake first thing in the morning for breakfast and last thing before bed, and also after workouts on workout days. I was thinking of doing about 4 smaller meals in between of about 500-600 calories, every meal consisting of equal amounts of protein and carbs and upping or lowering either one depending on how fat I get or how little muscle I gain.
So I'll be at around 4000 calories non workout days and 5000 on workout days. It might seem like a lot, but I surf every day and plan on running for 30 minutes twice a week on non workouts days.
Again, I've been lifting for almost 3 years but am a relative newbie to nutrition, so all help is appreciated.
btw... 6'1 190lbs, and looking to do a SLOW bulk to about 200 next year.
Thank you guys, you're always so helpful.

Do you think that two cups of oatmeal in those shakes is too much, or just right? Maybe not enough?
I heard 40 % carbs
40 % protein
20 % fats
I just don't know how to find the exact number. Do I just divede it by how many calories I eat in a day? That seems like a lot of work?Curls are for girls!!!
