    Out of shape.

    Im currently out of shape than i used to be Im getting kind of flabby and i want to know what exercises i can do that are best to take the fat off while building muscles. I Currently cannot use my barbell because its crap. Now all i can use is my dumbells.

    At that stage, i'd be suggesting to begin a circuit class or start jogging or swimming each day.

    Getting your inner organs back up to scratch should come well before sloggin dumbells around an image conscious gym.

    imo, pre-training programs are more important that what you'l be doing once you're fit again. You gotta build that foundation. Eat smaller meals more regularly aswell

    Sled dragging, prowler push sled and dumbbell farmer walk to get into shape!

    Lots of good suggestions in this thread. You can also consider two other things a kettlebell training and/or a sand bag training. Jump rope work is always a good idea. Hope this helps.

    I started the year at near 250lbs, I concentrated on losing weight first with lots of cardio, mostly with exercise bikes and elliptical machines. I did lift weights but I kept it basic. Didn't try nothing fancy until I lost about 40lbs.
