6 months in and the rest of my life to go
Taken Feb 6 2008. Depressed....fat....Even XXL shirts fit tight. I would be 29 in 5 months. It was time to make a change.
Taken August 12 2008. Around 6 months later. 63 lbs lighter. Not even close to being done. I have 12 - 13 lbs to go until my original goal of 220 lbs. After that its on to probably 200 lbs.

I attached a couple more pictures of my calves. These were taken yesterday. Thanks for the compliment. I can honestly say I want calves like Jeff Long!!!

Yes....I am getting rid of clothes that are to big for me now.
I have dropped 2 waist sizes, and a shirt size.
Current diet (I will post the diet I eat daily then explain why I do what I do)
6:00 AM Breakfast - Cereal or 5 Egg Whites - 1 Whole Egg - Oats or Straight fruit
8:00 AM Chicken breast or Tuna / Salmon - Baked lays or Pretzels
10:00 AM Ham / Turkey Sandwich on Whole Wheat bread - Baked lays or Pretzels
12:00 PM MRP - I used to drink MuscleMilk...I have since switched to EAS.
2:00 PM Chicken breast or Tuna / Salmon - Baked lays or Pretzels
4:00 PM Gym - 1 1/2 - 2 hours of weight training - 45 - 60 min of cardio
6:00 PM Dinner - Depends what I am in the mood for. I always keep in high in protien - low in carbs
Wake up, and have pretty much whatever kind of cereal I want. For me breakfast is about getting carbs in, and boosting my energy in the morning. Normally I have a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, or Apple Jacks. I honestly did the Special K thing for a while. Its basically like eating Rice Crispies. I do not rule out 5 Egg Whites and 1 Whole Egg in the morning. Sometimes I want to go light. I have to keep in mind though, if I do that my body will burn through / metabolise that protien really quick. I will be needing something else in my stomach within the hour. For this I usually grab a Pear, and a Banana. The Banana makes me fill full. The Pear is just down right good for you.
I do keep my meals around every 2 hours if possible. My meals equate to around 150 - 200g of protien a day. My carbs are around 100 at most. Fat is obviously extremely low in my diet. I dont count calories much. I do watch calories from fat. Those are what I think a lot of people should be concerned with.
5 - 6 small meals a day is a MUST!! People at my work do not understand. I am training my body to realize in 2 hours there will be more food coming, so it has to figure out what to do with it. Its more efficient to burn it than store it so thats what happens.
As far as supplements. I am about to start a 21 day cycle.
UN Animal Stak
UN Animal Pak
BSN Nitrix
I cannot praise the change taking Animal Pak has had on me. I have not taken it for about the last 3 months. While I was taking it, I totally felt different in the gym. In a good way. It also seemed to help my body metabolise, and get rid of what my body did not need.
If there are any other questions about what I have done please ask. I am an open book when it comes to my work out, and diet.
I am about to go back to school to major in Fitness, and minor in Nutrition. I am also soon to start studying for my personal training certification.
I figured I would edit this and put in what I do in the gym.
I work out 5 days a week, with 2 days rest.
Mon - Chest - Back - Cardio
Tues - Shoulders - Abs - Cardio
Wed - Hams - Abs - Cardio
Thurs - Bi's - Tri's - Cardio
Fri - Quads - Calves - Abs - Cardio
Sat - Off - Watch diet
Sun - Off - Watch diet
If you are wondering why I split my leg day up over 2 days, its for the simple fact that I can focus more on each part of my leg a lot more this way. I used to do legs on Fridays, but it pretty much meant that I was spent after that. I had about 30 - 45 minutes of life in me after the gym....after that I would pretty much sleep for a couple hours. Hopefully like I said, I can focus more on each part of my legs, as well as live to tell about it an hour after the gym.
I do not have my cards here with me that have my daily workouts written down. I will post that later this evening. The workout I am starting tomorrow is completely different from the last 3 week cycle I had. I am sure I will see some results from this.

Awesome progress man. You know what needed to be done, you've started and are getting closer and closer, and now there is no stopping you. Keep on going, its the small amounts of work that add up to the grand finale!

Great work so far! I can sympathize with you, as Im 220 (at 5'10) and I have trouble finding shirts that fit me here in my country. I just started my weight loss journey and its pretty damn hard to eat right and exercise (just cardio for now), so its great to see people who are succeeding like you. I also battle with chronic depression so I know how hard it is to keep motivated. But youre doing it man. Very inspirational. Keep it up!

Thanks for all the positive comments.
ragexzero
you are alive...thats enough to be happy about. at least you are here to make the good choices in life!!
I love the way this picture looks. Once my legs are more cut they will look like I want them too. I started looking at my workout as far as cardio, and I have decided to drop the cardio to around 30 min at most. I am only going to be running around once a week now and if anything just to get the blood going on heavy lifting days especially leg days.

There have been several things that gave kept me motivated through all of this.
1. About 6 months ago I had this interview coming up for a new job here at Dell. Measured my shoulders and what not and said buy this size. This will fit you. So I bought it. Got home didnt fit. I was like WTF...you measured me and sold me the wrong size. My fiance said....dont take it back use it as motivation. So i kept it. 3 months later it actually fits. Its actually bigger one me than most of my shirts. I am wearing it to work tomorrow.
2. me and my fiance were doing our thing one night and she grabbed onto my arms, and she said OMG your arms!! they are so ****ing sexy. if thats not motivation i dont know what is
diet....high protien, low carb, low fat. I did that for about the first 5 months. i have learned not to count calories to much. dont pay attention to the scale as much. pay attention to how you look in the mirror. thats your real proof right there.
as far as when people started commenting on my weight loss...it was probably last month. one of the girls that works at the gym said she noticed it when i got out of the car.
i have since gone down 1 shirt size to 1X shirts, and 2 pants sizes. I went from a 40 to a 36. all my shorts are way to big now. a belt is a MUST now to keep them up.
as far as any supplements i was taking....i took universal nutritions animal pak for the first 3 months. then stopped. i am going to start taking it again today. it definately helps your body figure out what it needs to do with things you put in it.
if i eat carbs i do it by noon that way around 4 pm i am primed to burn them off in the gym.
this cycle coming up is going to be animal pak, animal stak, and nitrix...although i am thinking about taking muscletech nano vapir instead
we shall see

One other thing. You find that cheating at least 2 times a month will help you and your body!! Your body needs it. I usually do this though with a big 12ox new york strip from Texas Roadhouse, with chili as a side. Its great and will fill you up until the next day.

Thanks
Maybe I have genetics on my side when it comes to my legs?! I have to hit them hard when I do. I cannot wait to start my supp cycle. I hope to see some good gains within the next 3 months.
