Question about waist measurement
Hello Everyone
I joined last sunday and input my measurements into my bodyspace profile and have returned this week to update my progress.
I followed the instructional videos on where i was to take the measurements.
Taking my measurement for my waist round the naval.
However with me being female my question is, Is this the correct place for me to take the wasit measurement?
Due to my waist measurement if taken from here being similar to my hip measurement.
Hope someone could clear this query up for me, and thank you for your time reading this.

Personally, I measure at the narrowest point between my ribcage and hips - but I don't suppose it matters as long as you measure in the same place each time.

I measure in the narrowest place, and suck in my belly when I'm doing it. That way, I can see if there is a real reduction when I do it again.

I measure at the narrowest place and I make sure everything is relaxed (no sucking in, no flexing). Really it doesn't matter, just make sure you're taking it in the same place using the same method for tracking purposes.
Moving up from skinny to fit---and I've gained 20 lbs in the process. Most importantly, I'm actually okay with that :).

aroudn the navel is THE STOMACH not the waist. Waist is right below your ribcage

Yes, thats what i had thought when i took my measurements. I posted the topic asking the question just to make sure, that my doubt about me taking the measurement at the naval was correct or not. Because the instruction video on the body blog were you first input your measurements explain to take it at the naval line - however they are measuring a male in the video.
I have know taken a measurement at the natural waist line where i taper in.
Thanks again everyone for you responses and good look with your goals

youre supposed to use the navel as the waist measurement.

Carb Queen Rebel
measure at the smallest part of the waist...normally over the navel and above the hip bone.

I have some difficulty also, most people do. I don't have a naval!! So, they catch me at the narrowest point. Consistency is definitely key.

I meaure slightly above my navel since that is where I'm the narrowest. If nothing else it's better for my ego. LOL
