"Okay, training is 100 percent, nutrition is 100 percent, and mental approach is 100 percent. It is like a tripod: you take one of the legs away and they all fall down. So that is bullsh!t and there is no such thing (that one bodybuilding factor is more important than the other). - Dorian Yates

I still disagree. I have done many studio arts at school and college. I have learned that if you make the work your own that you dont have to ask for permission. Look it up
USING COPYRIGHTED WORKS
With specific exceptions, which we'll get to later, you must make the copyrighted imagine into your own artwork without having to ask for permission from the copyright owner, this includes doing:
Reproduce the work in any form or medium
Prepare a work that is based on or derived from the original work in any form or medium.
Distribute copies of the work by sale, gift, rental, lease or lending.
Performing the work, live or by other medium.
Displaying a work, either directly or by telecommunications.Team Norton

I specialised in copyright law in my law degree and studied copyright specifically for over a year. If the person who made the original work doesn't want you reproducing it, in any form, they can stop you. If you're just doing it for personal use then that's OK, but once you start distributing they have a claim. It's in the Berne Convention, which, as a member state of the WTO, you have to agree to because of TRIPS. Check it out - Article 9, subsection 1.
