When I'm running late for school pick up, my cardio can be extremely high intensity. Try making up 10 minutes on a 10 mile spin and you'll be sweating buckets by the time you arrive. Not to mention breaking a few red lights on the way!

I am NEVER posting before pix. I reckon that now I look like a fit school mom who is in decent shape. My pre-keto pix make me cringe.

The reference range (normal) for HDL was 1.0-2.0 and for LDL was under 3. So my LDL was bog standard normal, and my HDL was off the scale.

It varies a lot, but it usually involves eggs for breakfast, fish for lunch and steak or chicken for dinner. Lots of green veg, and cheese or nuts etc for snacks.

Actually for women Cholesterol is almost non existent as a risk factor for heat disease. having two televisions probably rates higher on the risk factor list for women.

Totally agree (we've recently got a second tv, and the girls are driving me mad watching and copying all the really annoying kids on Disney channel), but it is handy to shut up the experts who keep telling me I'm a walking heart attack.

    LOL at the disney channel

I KNEW you already knew that about the women and cholesterol danger (well at least I thought I knew anyway).
Though you really want to rethink the 2nd tele. Ahahhaa

Just as an aside, where in Ireland are do you live? I travelled there just before I got married 15 years ago. My wife was studying English there, and living in Cladder.

I'd love to get rid of the second tv, but there'd be war. As it is, no tv is allowed on during meals or homework time, and that is hard enough to enforce.

Yep, knew about the women and cholesterol thing. Actually, as you get older, your cholesterol should increase. Low cholesterol in old people is a bad sign. Wonder why they keep pushing Statins to old people???

If you flew to Dublin, you passed within a couple of miles of me. I live just north of Dublin airport. If I'm flying somewhere, I cycle to the airport, then spend longer trying to find somewhere to lock the bike than I did cycling there.
    65% fat, 30% protein, 5% carbs = keto.

Silly isn't it, the old statin thingy?

I loved Ireland, my wife wants to go back when the kids are older. It has some of the most spectacular scenery of any country I have been to. Especially when it is windy and rainy on the coast.
I hear you on the tele thing, my kids automatically turn the tele off for dinner these days

Nice results. My dad is one of the few people I know that thinks my keto diet is healthy. He's going to try his own diet soon called the "Ancestors Diet" that he is making. He's going to get some of his friends on it too.

OT: Don't you miss the good ol' days of disney with actual cartoons and such instead of nothing but kids living in hotels, psychics, pop singers, etc.? When I was younger i'd watch chip and dale rescue rangers, Ducktales, Tailspin, MickeyMouse, and such.

Because I could lose weight and maintain on it without starving, and because I feel so much better on keto. No heartburn, indigestion, gallstones, hay fever, afternoon naps, dental plaque, lots of little things like that. And I really really like the food. If I never eat another rice cake in my life, I'll be happy.

The one thing that saves my sanity is that their absolute favourite is Dr Who, which I also love, followed by Sarah-Jane Adventures. Plus, The Doctor is the uber-geek, so they hve a great role model if they ever get a hard time at school.
