A well built diet with a proper calorie deficit coupled with exercise is the solution to losing your love handles. There is no such thing as targeted fat loss because if there was, I wouldn't have a gut.
edit: in terms of exercise, don't neglect hip raises (incline, lying, hanging), weighted crunches, medicine ball exercises, cable crossovers, etc.
