Which do you think is better for overall fat loss. Leg day or a 30min run?

What do you guys think burns more cals....

Squats, leg press, stiff leg dead lifts, lunges, leg curls, calf raises at high intensity or a 30min run.

I honestly feel more spent and my heart seems to be working over time when I do leg day, but what do you guys think.

all depends on intensity, duration of each which is hard to exactly measure and pretty pointless.
either way , cardio and weightlifting will both use up energy and as long as you are in a caloric deficit at the end of the day, you will lose weight.
    risk nothing, gain nothing

I ask because my legs are sore for almost 4-5 days after squats. It almost as if my choice is to squat or run 2-3 times that week.

Good question. Like to see some intelligent/ backed-up answers. I know if you elevate your heart rate and don't allow it to drop below a certain range you will burn lots of cals/fat and I know how intense squat sessioins can be. I would probably give a slight edge to running since there is no resting period.

How long is your leg workout... how short are your rest periods etc... A leg workout could EASILY burn more calories than a 30 minute run... EASILY. You can run if your legs are sore... it may be hard the first 5 minutes, but once the endorphins begin to release the soreness will subside until you are done running.

yea you could but ud have to do high reps and short rest periods imo and that just takes away from the beauty of leg workouts i.e- going as heavy as you can

It depends but stick with hiit for now. BTW if by 10-15 min your not crying your eyes out begging for air your doing it wrong. HIIT should be short and intense.

Running burns more calories than anything pretty much...and builds your legs and calfs. So your a winner either way. I'd say do both.

ehh, unless you are doing full out sprints running isn't going to do much at all for building the legs.

agree. Also the lifting will boost the metabolism more then just jogging for 30 minutes
