Powerlifters (which you are not) often train over their weight class limit and then cut down for a meet. If he moves up, he will be competing against guys who walk around at close to 200lbs., and he is giving up a lot of leverage at this point and time.

    What is your best total, and what meet did it occur in? Until you can answer this question, you are nothing more than a wannabe.

    And there is a difference between having lifts that are good for one weight class and lifts that are exceptional for another. I would explain it to you, but probably I am too much of a dumb ass.

    pullups: a lot, but i usually just do many sets of 5 w/ at least 45# added using different grips

    Have a lot more experience w/ bench than DL or squat.

    Whats the power clean to DL ratiuo supposed to be? I DL about 450-475 right now, but My Clean is probably just around 200.

    I hear people cleaning almost their deadlift? Hows that even possible?

    It depends a lot on the emphasis of one's training, be it strength or explosiveness, their technical proficiency in each of the lifts, and quite a few other factors which govern the % of one's strength that is available for a quick lift like a clean.

    i have a few quick automated responses to people who quote my lifts as they almost always call bs. i then refer them to the comps ive done them in, thats all, no harm done buddy.

    Cool cool. I basically was just speaking from being a fellow 6'er and knowing I would have to bulk up TREMENDOUSLY to squat 500+
