my mom is annoying

what i mean was we were talking about me wearing my glasses on when driving. Nothing major, just chit chat, I hear her on the phone talking to her friend(two old hens yip yaping as i call them) and she told her frined "Yeah so i told him you need to wear glasses, he think he knows everything blah blah" and her friend, like two old hen friends do, "Yah, he needs to connect the dots and get it. he really does think he knows everything"

im like wtf, uhh no..first off i never said i didnt have to wear it and we werent even arguing just talking.

it annoys me because it seems like she makes up **** or maybe her memory is just ****ing horrible and she takes what i says and totally skews them but its annoying

her friend is annoying too, always thinks she knows what she is talking about when concerning me

but im moving out soon so i wont have to hear their convos no more

Boy does this strike a familiar chord with me!

It's bad enough being the number one topic of conversation with my mom's friends, but she's can't even get the facts straight, or she gives reasons I am doing something that are often demeaning and presumptive, and not at all accurate.

I've learned that there's nothing I can do to stop it either. I've tried everything. The only real way is to cut her off from knowing about my life, and I don't want to do that. So I just bear it and try to remember all the great things she has done for me. She will be gone someday, and then I will miss her.

Have you told her how you feel betrayed that everything you talk about gets passed around the henhouse? That you feel you will have to limit your communication with her, because of trust issues?

It may or may not make a difference, but if you have not tried, then you need to. You can move out of her house, but she will still be your Mom, and probably be a part of your life. Unless you plan on cutting ties with her alltogther. Is that your plan?

Your only 18, but that still makes you an adult. Time to start acting like one!
YOU, need to take ownership of the issue since it is bothering you, and confront her, in a respectful way, not adversariel.

Being able to communicate effectively is important, not just in this situation, but in life in general.

Ah can't you see this guy is a tough gangsta mofo that is simply missing the comforting touch of his mother while suckling at her teet. We should embrase this young man and tell him that is going to be ok.
