Just got back from a short lift today. Impressed by not only the fact my gym was open, but how crowded it was !! So crowded I had to mix up my chest routine to available spots!! Anyways hats off to everyone who put a lift in today and enjoy the day. Personally, I am going to go undo my lift with a few cold ones and some burgers and dogs

While my gym is only about 10 yards from my bedroom, I did go today...LOL. Back/Legs Day....my favorite. I'm a mess right now & having trouble pressing the correct keys on the keyboard (lotsa backspacebackspaceedit). PRd almost the whole WO. Had a double helping of some brown rice sushi yesterday & a few dried figs as a treat plus got a lot of sleep, so I knew the guns were loaded. Started with straight leg deadlifts & moved a cumulative 3700+lbs....a new PR.
Then the WO started.....

I was going to go this morning but I got conscripted into moving furniture so we could paint. Those advertising people who make those ads that "You can do it, Home Depot can help" and "Labor Day weekend is the perfect time to paint!" should be slowly simmered in hot paint.

Uncomfortable.........
I am going later today. I am new to this and spent some time this morning creating an upper body workout. I am jnot comfortable with free weights, only using dumbbells, (haven't graduated to barbells yet) and just not comfortable with upper body movements. I am working with the Body for Life plan as a blueprint to start with. Sure wish I had someone to walk me through this a couple of times.............
Hoping to hit just the right time when everyone else is doing 12 oz curls. and I can stumble around on my own. Maybe get lucky and run into a serious body builder or two that won't mind a question or two ???
Enjoy the day all! I will be grilling a weeks worth of chicken later after the gym. Adding a bit of ribeye steak to treat myself a little today, with a sweet potato.... "and the bootprints behind me are someone's I used to be...."

Yeah my gym had a good amount of folks for a holiday yesterday when I did my back/chest day. Today is Cardio day and it's a scorcher out there. It's already 29C (or 83F) and there is not a cloud in the sky.
Yesterday I put up a new shed (2nd one) in the backyard, and I need to transfer stuff from the old one to the new one to sort of make it so that both have items.djl_ottawa

Being a real lifter is not about a number, or a medal, or somebody else telling you that you are a real lifter. It is about commitment to the iron and strength of purpose.

No workout for me. My kid was off from school and my wife wanted the day to work so I ended up on childcare duty. We've got watermellon in the fridge and we went to Toys R Us to get R/C helicopters which we've broken and repaired multiple times already. Fun stuff, but not what I had planned to do.
It's OK though, I got in an extra mini-workout with Olympic lifts on Saturday and my legs can use the rest. Tomorrow has PTO in the morning so I won't get back to the iron till Wednesday.

Today was leg day; got in a good one. I'll pay tomorrow.
