Losing small patches of facial hair. Multi-vit related?

Hey. I can grow a pretty thick beard and grow it out on occasion. However, I recently noticed that I have lost hair which is not re-growing in small pea-dime size patches on the left side of my face along my jaw. It isnt very noticable at this point, but quite strange.

I googled around on the subject and found that doctors dont really understand it other than it is your immune system mistakenly attacking hair folicles. What is interesting is I found a forum of guys talking about it and nearly all of them stared getting them after starting a multi-vitamin.

Thinking back on it, I never noticed them before I started taking my GNC sport men's multi. About 2 weeks ago I started taking it 2x per day and I developed another patch just below my side burns a few days ago.

Have any of you ever experienced this? Im gonna go see a dermatologist this week. Im thinking I should get my test levels checked also and steroid injections seem to be about the only treatment for it.

I had the same problem last year. I had two bald spots develop on both sides of my chin. The hair grew back after about 8 months. I seriously doubt it has anything to do with your multivitamin, It's probably just a coincidence.
    Do I even lift?

Does intensive exercise deplete testosterone levels? I have never researched the subject as I have thought the opposite. Training more often usually results in being more 'alpha'.

Thanks for the responses. I'll post back what the doc recommends

Those small patches will grow and get bigger. When one disappears, there is a greater chance to get a 2nd, a 3rd, a 4th and so on. They can just pop up anywhere you have hair. I forgot what the condition is called

When you go to the dermo, ask for the shots and rogaine! He'll prescribe you a numbing cream. What the shot does is prevent it from growing/expanding. He's inject right directly into the patch. How many pokes, depends on the size of the patch. It'll take months for that small patch to grow back

It's caused by a hormonal imbalance, from stress so a full panel is idea.
