typing is annoying and I will explain in a minute...
Good news
Did awesome in the scrimmage; got a tackle on D-line and almost a fumble recovery. Held my gaps really good On O-line I helped give the QB plenty of time to throw and run plays always went 8 yards +(with the exception of one drive play that got blown up)
Bad News
I broke my finger :/
edit: OKAY FOR THE LAST TIME I AM AWARE THAT A BROKEN FINGER IS NOT A BIG DEAL AND I INTEND TO PLAY BUT HE PROBLEM IS THAT MY TRAINER IS STRICT AND PROBABLY WON'T LET ME PRACTICE MONDAY. WHAT DO I DO?

"One morning I woke up and found my favorite pigeon, Julius, had died I was devastated and was gonna use his crate as my stickball bat to honor him. I left the crate on my stoop and went in to get something and I returned to see the sanitation man put the crate into the crusher. I rushed him and caught him flush on the temple with a titanic right hand he was out cold, convulsing on the floor like an infantile retard." -Mike Tyson

I know its a finger. breaking a finger is still bad news even if its not that serious.
I doubt that
Yeah I have played with worse injuries as well.
Its just that my football trainer is strict and I don't know if he will let me play with it or not.
I have to play man. I'm so ****ing close to starting D-line.Last edited by jmanjman47; 08-30-2008 at 02:50 PM.

You've never seen a club? I remember Derek Thomas (rip) playing with one. Perhaps not at the highschool level but a finger shouldn't keep you from playing .... unless you are say a wide receiver then it might suck to catch a ball.

Breaking a finger is not that bad of news, its a minor injury, I've played with broken fingers many times.
I doubt that
Yeah I have played with worse injuries as well.
Its just that my football trainer is strict and I don't know if he will let me play with it or not.
I have to play man. I'm so ****ing close to starting D-line.TE

WRBIGBODY...did you read my posts? You honestly think I would quit football because of a ****ing finger?
Breaking a finger is still bad news when you play D-line. Its gonna be more difficult to grab on to the o-linemen's pads.
I have played with worse injuries.
Its just that this is different because I have been kicking ass but I don't think my coach is gonna start me if I'm injured; weather its a minor injury or not.
You guys don't know how strict my trainer is. He sat a player because of a strained shoulder and I don't want him doing the same to me. He could take me out 4 weeks just because of a finger!!!!!!!Last edited by jmanjman47; 08-30-2008 at 04:00 PM.

jman: sit out the one practice and let the finger knit. From what you posted he has'nt said you cant play.
If the trianer want to take you ot for 4 weeks go to your doctor and have him clear you wont make the trainer happy at all but doctor trumps trainer.
Side questionis your trainer new or a person who has never played sports?

thanks. repped
I don't intend to sit out a practice though. no way. I have today and tommorow to heal my finger up as much as I can.
I will go to the doctor to get cleared if the trainer won't let me play. Didnt think of that.
I don't wanna end up like this guy...
http://www.sportingnews.com/yourturn...c.php?t=445054
He was side-lined for 2 weeks with a broken pinki finger despite playing with bone spurs in an ankle last season.
As for my trainer he has been around for 2 seasons. He's a really good guy though and he cares about all of the players and knows like a thousand of stretches for everything. But hes a really really cautious person when it comes to letting players play with injuries.Last edited by jmanjman47; 08-30-2008 at 04:24 PM.

There are finger braces(buy from local drug stores) you can use to give enough support to keep it from getting worse, but it also gives you enough mobility to continue using the finger. You probably want to tape your finger if you don't want to get a brace, but taking off the tape sucks...
Take some advil to prevent the pain from bothering you.
Wearing gloves also help. They give you support for your broken finger as well as the rest of your fingers as well so breaking your other fingers won't be as easy.
