Casein is as thick as they come my friend. It is a slow digesting protein so its thickness is important for that aspect so it can gel up in the acidic environment in your stomach. One suggestion that we give out to help alleviate the thickness is to make a pudding. Use whole milk (preferably) instead of water or 2% and put it in the freezer for about 10 minutes and you will have an easy and tasty pudding. Just a little twist to compensate for its thickness. Hope this can help.

If i am taking it as is I use water not milk as well. The reason you want to leave it in the freezer for at least 10 minutes is because it is that thick and needs that much time to "gel" up.
I will admit Casein is a hard one to take especially if you are used to the 100% Whey Gold Standard. Next time you should try the Cookies & Cream, by far my favorite out of the 4 flavorsTime Ticks In One Direction, So Make Today Count

Yucky to Lucky
I gotcha bro, 2 GREAT tasting recipes
1. 1 Cup Water, 1 Cup Milk, both WARMED to as hot as you like to drink coffee/cocoa on stove top together pre mixed. + 1 Scoop ON Whey, 1 Scoop Casein, both chocolate. Very Creamy warm and relaxing bedtime shake
2. 1 cup water, 1 packet of Diet Swiss Miss Hot Cocoa, 1 Scoop ON Whey, 1 Scoop Casein, again, better when warm. Almost no carbs (compared to below) (11g, 2 fiber, 4 sugar), mucho protein (50g) and 265 calories.
And honestly, don't try these without the blender. I mean, they work, but you WILL get chunks and much less creamy, though also less foam.
Depending on my caloric and carb allotment for the day, I add Flax oil or natural peanut butter and/or more or less milk.
You are still going to have the faintly grainy/chalky-ness of the casein that you will notice mainly sticking to the glass, but the other ingredients cover it nicely and actually give it a distinct creamy flavor I like.
This is my night-night shake every single day.

I never understand it when someone says a protein powder is "too thick". If you think it's too thick, why dont you just add more water? Almost every time i see this, it's because someone didn't read the directions and are just assuming theyre supposed to use 8oz of water. With casein you need 12-16oz.
