Yeah, it kind of gets you thinking . My father sent that to me last night. I was lucky to have only missed 2. I missed the date of the Constitution (thinking Declaration instead) and the President during WWI.

Yeah, it's stuff like that that will stick with you. We did a lot of family trips by car when I was a kid, and my folks would quiz us on state capitals and other stuff like that. To this day, I believe I could still name all 50. And the sad part is that you'll find the avg person would be lucky to know 10 out of 50.

I missed two also - I overbid the # of reps in the house and missed on the order or ascendancy for the presidency... I tried to write in Alexander Haig and they counted it wrong!
My wife had to take this test a year and a half ago when she got her citizenship. I was impressed that we require new citizens to know this stuff.

Don't feel bad :>
I am Canadian as you all know and we had one of those last year. I failed. Miserably. I would have never became a citizen.
The odd ball thing is, because we are so inundated with US Television, we know a lot about the US history and such, more then our own. I didn't take the test you linked because I knew I would fail that one too :P

I take it your at work? it looks like they have disabled something because even on your status bar it says opened but with errors. I would say either some scripting has been disabled, or your security settings are set to high in IE

It's not my security settings in IE, but there are all kinds of filters on the servers.
[EDIT]I have my settings at "medium" because there are company-related functions requiring popups and java script executions.[/EDIT]
Thanks, brother. At least now I know I'm not THAT stupid.

You can try typing this in your browser to get around some of the filters:
207.46.150.50/id/25461301
If you are a tech geek forgive the forthcoming explanation -
The 207.46.150.50 is the ip address of the msnbc.msn server. You can access it by name or by ip address. The rest of the url is the same.
To get an ip address of a server - on a Windows pc click the Start button - select Run - in the Run window type in cmd and click OK. At the cmd prompt type: ping espn.com (for example) you will see something like this:
H:\>ping espn.com
Pinging espn.com [199.181.132.250] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 199.181.132.250: bytes=32 time=112ms TTL=232
Reply from 199.181.132.250: bytes=32 time=110ms TTL=232
Reply from 199.181.132.250: bytes=32 time=111ms TTL=232
Reply from 199.181.132.250: bytes=32 time=111ms TTL=232
Ping statistics for 199.181.132.250:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 110ms, Maximum = 112ms, Average = 111ms
The 'Reply from' part shows espn.com's ip address. Sometimes filters only filter websites by name and not by ip...
For what it's worth.

Thanks, Mike. That didn't get me through. Our proxy servers are pretty sophisticated. I'm a tech geek by rote of what I do, not because it interests me.

LOL, it's probably because of Haig that I knew that one.
