lifting during the season.. (football)

Hey whats up, ive been lifting for almost a solid year and made great gains.. but its time for football season and im just wondering should I stop lifting.. and then just start lifting again when the season is over or should I just lift heavy on weekends? please someone help me out..thanks

Do not stop lifting. Do a lot of stability work using cables, dumbbells and/or stability balls, plus keep doing your compound exercises with low weight. Stop the explosive lifts and work on your explosion in your individual practice drills/after practice sprints.

During my football season I just go a little lighter on the weight to maintain and also try and work on my quickness/explosiveness. Especially in a sport like football I think it is good to lift all year (taking short breaks and switching routines now and then).
