Pulled Achielles Tendon/severly swollen ankle
Two weeks ago I was playing football and to my luck I roll my ankle into a hole in the practice field. At first I thought the pain would only be around fora day or so but to my luck it kept on getting worse.
I find myself two weeks later still on pain meds and not being able to apply any pressure to the hurt ankle. I come to this part of the forum though to ask if you have any advice to help my ankle heal faster.
Have the ankle Ace bandaged
I usually Ice when I come home from school because of all the crutching I have to do and usually apply heat before.

Stop applying the ice, only use ice in the first days of injury. After that just keep applying the heat every 1 or 2 for a good 30 mins. I'm hoping you just did a severe sprain kinda deal, and nothing serious. Have you gone to the doc about it? I know ligaments/tendons won't show up on x ray, but if your ankle is still swollen for another 2 weeks (if you are indeed staying off of it) then you may have some damage in there. I'm no doc, but gotta stay off of it until it fully heals. The more you rest it, prop it up, heat it up properly, soak it in epson salt bath, the better it should heal if indeed some type of sprain. Good luck though

I am 40 years old and had cronic acheles and calf strains for the last 5 years...Two years ago I had a calf pull that held me out of jogging for six months... After that I was afraid to run for years, it never felt 100%.. I gave up on Triathalon training too... It really put a damper on my life as I lived in the pool and got water logged litterally to stay in shape.....
The good news is I have solved that problem...
Solution - MSM and Glucosimen suppliments daily...Also Fish and Olive oil suppliments daily combined with 30 minutes of yoga stretching daily... I do both and it works like a champ.. My joints and tendons feel like I am 20 again no lie.... Six months and going strong... Running, jumping, biking you name it, no problem.. Don't even think about my low legs getting injured anymore...I am doing mini Tri's again...
Hope this info. helps... It really worked for me when nothing else did.... A healthy daily diet of fruits and veggies daily can't hurt either..

I stopped the Ice like you had said and to give you an idea my ankle feels like a pregnant ladies stomach (mom told me it felt like that). I can still barely move my toes and I have been on crutches still. After 2 weeks it is still very much swollen but the Doc says no major tears. My schools Physical Trainer says it may take 3 more weeks until i can put pressure on it and almost a year to nurse it back to almost full potential.. :/
great way to start a senior year..
