Wanderlei vs. Cro Cop (First fight)
While nursing a hangover yesterday, I decided to watch some old Pride dvds and came across a fight I had actually never watched before - Silva vs. Cro Cop at Pride 20. For those who dont know the context, this fight was actually billed as a 'Pride vs. K1' fight - with no judges and slightly modified mma rules. (This is why the fight was a draw).
Anyways, I've always heard that 'some argue wanderlei won that fight' etc etc.
Well that's total bull****. Wanderlei DID win that fight...he actually dominated Cro Cop from start to finish - both standing and on the ground.
I counted, and Cro Cop landed 4 body kicks (really good ones) and some a handful of less than damaging punches - and that's literally it.
Silva landed effective leg kicks, many solid punches and scored numerous takedowns with effective GnP.
Cro Cop looked frustrated the entire time and a bit shell-shocked.
Anyways, I'm not even sure anybody cares one way or another, I just thought I'd share that if anybody else had not seen the fight before like myself.

i'd say silva won, sure, but i wouldnt say he dominated. watch crocop silva 2 and you'll see domination in its purest form. crocop made a hell of a statement and literally walked thru silva and came out with barely a scratch.
i have never seen silva take such a beating from anyone

Lol yeah no ****, I've seen that fight 1000 times. This thread was more for people who hadn't seen the first one before and had simply 'heard that wanderlei won', when really he dominated from start to finish.

Like I said, I've seen the first one 1000 times and yeah, Cro Cop pummeled Silva.
I believe the Mirko that beat Wanderlei could have beaten anybody on the planet that night though. He was possessed!lol

he did look very good in dream 1, even though he was fighting a nobody. he did stuff i've never seen him do before - knees, striking from different angles, being aggressive etc. its like he exploded at the end of the fight and knocked the crap out of the guy he was fighting. it was over in about 10 secs after he got going
