    For practice I would stay away from energy drinks all together. You're outside in the heat and you don't need anything else dehydrating you. You will get a short burst of energy and then a crash and not be able to do your best.
    You're best bet is to look at your diet. Are you feeding your body enough to get the results you want from practice? At your size I would suggest having a nutritionist look at your daily intake and modify from there. My guess is you are either not eating enough or not sleeping enough if you are lacking energy for practice. Also, alot of it can be mental. Are there any negative people you practice with? The negative-nancys can sap the energy out of anyone.
    Most energy drinks are the same so you might just go for flavor of choice pre-game or during half-time. I would save it for half-time only if it were me but you have to find your own formula that works for you personally.

    Long story short- feed and hydrate your body for function, use energy supplements/drinks only as a back up.
    Love many, trust few, always paddle your own canoe.

    Yes, big time! The stuff is crazy. But since you are gonna be practicing in the heat, I would reccomend only drinking half the bottle first, some people have thrown up easily from it.

    i drink allot of water throughout the morning and during my practice...

    I drank a 32 oz monster energy drink drinks before a training camp and it worked out well. (the camp was 3 hours) and i never felt a "crash"

    Before football I always make sure there's a gallon of water in me and I never EVER gas or get thirsty.

    I wouldn't try this for football because it's a little more risky but...

    before wrestling I usually take caffeine pills if I really need 'em.
