O/T Surgery
Here is a question for everyone....Would you consider to get surgery, if you didnt see the results, that you have been working for?

Same here. Nobody's perfect and you are what you are. If you are stuck with it beyond any possibility of fixing it with working out, that's just being human.

Do you mean like the lapband or stomach staple?
If that is what you mean, I would say no for myself, but I understand some folks need the help since diet and exercise do not work. Example if my wife. She goes to the gym more then I do, and eats healthier then I do, but she still have weight lose issues. She also has hyperthyriodism and is on some kind of med to help regulate it, but takes years is tweaking to get the levels correct.
She has thought about it, hell I did when I was fatter but for me I know what works, it just takes time. For some folks, time is not the issue, genetics are.

It could be any kind of surgery..For some people who lost a great amount of weight and there skin doesnt bounce back to normal. What do you do? Do you get that extra skin around your stomach taken off or do you live with it?

Oh hell no! None of us are perfect. Work your ass off and do the most with what God gave you.
I mean if you're missing a leg or something, by all means get that fixed, but otherwise...

For myself, When I reach my goals (body goals) I would love to get a tummy tuck and my boobies done After having 3 babies and nursing, everything doesnt bounce like they used to I just want my body back. Does that make me shallow? hhhhmmm

That's a personal decision that can only be made by the individual.
I think it's very wrong to judge anyone for getting a surgery or for having something done for themselves. Everyone has different reasons and they learn from those reasons. We aren't in their shoes so it's not right to judge.
Personally at this point in my life I wouldn't elect to have any kind of surgery but then I'm pretty happy with what I have. Surgery and going under a general can be very dangerous and has risks associated with it. Nothing I'm willing to try at the moment.

Not shallow at all. If it takes a little help from a professional to get your self confidence back then by all means do what it takes. You'll never keep your weight off if everything you do equals not so desirable results.
Hey Deb I'm here!!!

Both my mom and mother in law have had facelifts 69 and 54 years old. I have no problem with it but I would not do it myself. Unless it was excess skin or something to correct a deformity.

No longer in denial
I know that I will have loose skin issues when (and I do mean WHEN) I reach my goals so yes, I have considered it. My research indicates that it will be between 15 and 25k out of my own pocket to have elective surgery done.
Bottom line: I'd rather buy a boat

So what about women that have had breast implants, are they "Superficial" and a "turn-off"? What about the ones that had reductions?

absolutely not.. Ive done steroids but the idea of altering myself surgically is unappealing. Its just seems like its giving into the psychological idea that I have a body image problem, id rather psychologically rise above my insecurities about my physique and then im permanently free of being over concerned or too vain about my physique. I think once people buy into the idea of fixing themselves with an external mechanism like surgery they intrinsically weaken themselves psychological. I also think most people dont look at it this deeply and arent crazy like me, so perhaps its fine for others..

No amount of working out will turn a FRED into a DEBBIE!! Now surgery, that may make FRED feel like a DEBBIE, but he will still be FRED in my book!!

To answer your question......no.........I always get results!
Being a real lifter is not about a number, or a medal, or somebody else telling you that you are a real lifter. It is about commitment to the iron and strength of purpose.

Thank you for answering the question. If someone who cant get the results they want, do you think they are cheating by getting surgery? Do you think it is possible for the skin to bounce back what it used to be by working hard?

Are you talking about loose skin? if so, then IMO usually surgery is needed for excess skin from a large amount of weight lose.

IM a small person who had gained a lot of weight during pregnancy. I know even when I meet my goal, that I would someday need surgery. I have had 2 C-sections and have nursed 3 babies. I just want my body back. IM trying but it won't bounce back to what it used to be.

Boohyah!
If its lipo or a band - I wouldn't.
Loose skin - not sure... I'm losing fat at a steady pace but my skin is shrinking with me so far and I think my stretch marks are a badge of honour right now.
I'm Buddha-sized and full of wisdom... and fat.

I don't know how long or how hard you have been at it but that determines a lot
consistancy is key mabye you need to give it some more time and check your nutrition, it's hard to give advice without seeing how much skin is there.

With all the tools we have at our disposal, i say why not?
as long as it makes you happy and you can look at yourself in the morning, Do It!
The only thing that would stop me is health issues.
Excess skin is minor, if it will make you smile more by all means.
The boob job, well..........
I'd pass, but i'm a guy so what do I know!?!?
Come to think of it, This raises an interesting question for me, I wonder If I'll have skin issues when i get to my ultimate goal?
The older I get, the better I was
