My busted legs

I started doing deads and did them for probably a month or so. I quit lifting for unrelated reasons and now I have started again. I have done deads three times since I have been back lifting and the gym I use has new/newer bars. Everytime I deadlift I cut the hell out of the front on my legs (shins)with the (new) barbell. Is this a warning of bad form?

I read somewhere that this is a sign of bad form. If I remember correctly, there was a thread on this board about this topic some time ago.

yeah its actually a sign of good form, the bar should stay in constant contact with your body throughout the entire lift

well, perfect form would be the bad just barealy clearing your shins

however, depending on your body structure for you maybe perfect form is tearing shins up. in any case, even if your form is off, if you are scraping shins you at least know your not gonan **** up your back.

wear pants.
