So i have been workin out for about a year and a half. and i want to start and try to prepare in the near future for some amateur BB competitions. I was wondering where the best place to start with was? weither it be with gaining mass and such, and if so what exercises should i use?

The first thing you should do is work on the fact that you are 142lb. Gain atleast 50lb of muscle before even considering about any competitions. Seriously. At 19 you are in the best stage of your life to add as much muscle as possible. Don't waste that time dieting down to a super skinny weight just to get on stage. You can do that in a few years once you have some good mass on you.
Also, all these years of training and adding mass will serve as overall experience as you teach yourself how your body responds to different foods, methods of training etc. Learn as much about your body before you get on stage and you will have the edge.
