Training even while feeling unwell?
For the last 5 days I don't get enough sleep - the very noisy beerfest staged daily by local s...heads 100 feet from my first-floor window ends app.at 3.30 a.m. and only then I can start trying to get some asleep. 5 days of that in a row and I'm feeling dizzy all the time.
I've got to train but I'm afraid that lifting weights in that condition will bring more harm than good. Of course I can overrule all my reservations and just go for it. Have no problems with motivation, don't need the pretext for slacking. But...Is it worth it?
Was there a time you've decided to train no matter how unwell you felt?

physically sick, rest.
Tired, start light and keep at it. The energy will come as you work, up to a point. You'll feel better after.

Not sick but more than just tired.
Yeah, probably today I'll do 70-80% of the planned stuff.

If you are so tired that it is hampering your daily life, I'd skip working out, catch up on sleep, and then resume your workout routine.

I have trouble sleeping at night so i usually get 5-6 hours at the most.
If I start to feel run down mid way through the day, I down a Monster drink or something like that to perk me up a bit to get in my workouts.

For the past few months, my sleep has been HORRIBLE. 4 or 5 hours a night.. and maybe half of that would be REM. It really effects my performance in the gym.

Best thing for a tired body is exercise. Once your blood starts pumping you'll be fine. You'll also sleep better.

I'm calling them but they come like 1 time out of 5-6. And the cops here are feeling closer to the drunks than to the callers who present them with a problem, trying to make them act.

We have a very hot days here, the temperatures are well above the average for the season. So when the night comes my good neighbors are drawn to our courtyard with a promise of cool air - and great acoustics for their braying.
Beer drinkers get a lot of encourangement here - it's a part of the governments policy, people have to feel happy and not to ask the uneasy questions.
The TV promotes a role model of a goofy, good-natured guy, guzzling piss-tasting cheap beer and laughing their guts out.
Maybe that's why the police see these parties as something basically OK - just guys having fun.

Moscow, Russia, everywhere you see 5-10 guys perched on a bench with the cans or bottles. It's like a summer-long celebration.

Just like I did today. The rain made the drunks leave and I had the great 9 hours sleep! Will work out today at my 100% capacity.

Ouch...
Maybe it's time to stop - for a couple weeks?
Good luck with getting your sleep back!

Luckily, this night the rain made the drunks leave so I had the great 9 hours sleep. Otherwise I would have had to train at 70-80% capacity.

Sounds like England. John Lennon once described the government's policy as keeping people well enough stocked in beer and cigarettes so they're too pissed and happy to ask too many questions.
Problem is now that we're facing a binge drinking crisis. My city (Portsmouth) has made a name for itself once again. We had 295 alcohol related deaths last year. Throw that in with one of the highest rates of obesity in the nation, it's any wonder I've actually made it this far.
I actually have friends who go to the gym for cardio so they can maintain to compensate for their drinking. Not interested in free weights, fitness of any sort, purely so they can drink ten pints a night and not grow a gut.
Alcohol is great fun, and even when sober, it's fun to be around people who are drinking (mainly to laugh at them), but when you're looking to sleep, drunks are nothing but a pain in the arse. I sympathise.
