O/T Funny thing picking up my daughter
I almost made National headline news if I hadn't controlled myself at the airport going thru security...lol. Here is what happened. I wanted to go meet her at the gate when she got off the plane. I got there in plenty of time, but when I went to go thru security, they said I had to have a gate pass to get in. So i had to go to the airlines that she was on...tell her she was only 15 and that I had to get in so she would know where to go. This is in Indianapolis Int. Airport. Took me 15 minutes but I got it...still had 10 minutes left...so I rush to the security...now I can't go thru like everyone else. With my pacemaker....I have to have a full pat-down. So I go into this area standing there with just my jeans and t-shirt (I still think I should be able to chose my pat-down person....lol)....anyways....I am halfway thru this procedure and I look off to my right to see someone peering out from behind this standup sign in the middle of the aisleway and waving at me with a big grin on her face...there she was! It took everything in me to not bolt from there to grab her, but I knew I wouldn't get 10 feet before I had about 6 security guards trying to tackle me That had to be the longest 2 minutes.....lol. I just did not feel like spending the weekend in jail right after she got home.
She looks great and we had a blast all weekend long. They put a big dent in my wallet at the mall yesterday but that didn't seem to matter much. Both my girls were so glad to be back together.
Thanks again for all your prayers gang.

i am with you. i think they should have some bikini babes to help with the pat down...
.... yes, the lady travellers can have Brad Pitt look alikes, but they have to use a 3' plastic stick for the patt down.
what's good for the gander should not be allowed for the goose- lol

lol to funny. Good thing you did restrain yourself. But man, imagine the story she would have gotten!

Well, that's probably because none of you geniuses noticed that a68claret just revived an nearly 5mth old thread....and that we didn't have a Misc. Forum at that time . Just sayin'..........

Similar Story
I notified the fine folks at baggage/ticket check in Dallas, Denver, and another nameless podunk town that I had titanium rods in my back, and asked for a pre-check to speed things up.
Dallas and Denver were 100% professional, and I went right through just like normal folks.
The podunk town pulled me out of line and gave me the once-over right in front of everyone else. Had to go to the end of the line and embarrasing as all get out.

Damn I love sitting there watching the news and seeing people that I know
Great to hear that your daughters are doing great Brian.
Years ago, I had to get a plane ticket and fly out the next day due to my grand father passing away. Well I got marked as being high risk for that. had to go through the being frisked, wanded and all of my carry on luggage being swiped for explosive residue. Not the best feeling in the world, being treated like a terrorist in front of all the people that you are about to fly with.
