shoulders. rear delt
okay.
for so this idea of isolation first.
why for shoulders, so you do rear delt exercises first before any presses?
why can't you isolate doing side laterals or something?.
why REAR DELT first??

they say you should start shoulder workouts with a rear delt isolation workout.
what i was asking was, why it has to be rear delt, and why can't you start with an exercise like side laterals which target the medial head instead of the posterior head.

I've never heard that you should start with rear delt first.
I would start with compound lifts like shoulder presses first.
Typically I do rear delts last.

Who said this? Everyone is different. If you feel like starting with an overhead press, go ahead. Make sure you have a proper warm up no matter what you start with.
Me personally, I do overhead presses first. Compounds then isolations.

I don't even work the posterior head. Plenty of volume on back day takes care of it nicely.
