<---Bergs Contest Prep--->
Hey everyone, just starting to get things rolling for two, maybe three, possibly even a fourth show this fall. USBF and possibly an INBF. I've competed twice before already and want to try this time to keep more consistent with a contest prep thread to keep everyone updated and to hear opinions from my peers. Also must be a good thing to get the name out there to the higher ups. My goal is to eventually gain sponsorship and a pro-card. The first definate show is 8 weeks from now "USBF NYS VIII" on Oct. 11th and the second definate is the USBF Jr. Nationals in Baltimore, MD Nov. 8th (12 weeks). I've had a great offseason hitting it hard nearly every single day and have made leaps and bounds, or so I am hoping. I'll be posting a little more tonight and will have pics up asap. Good luck to everyone else competing, I'll be checking in on you all.
-Berg

Hey whats up man......glad to see you are logging your prep on here. You should consider doing the Poughkeepsie show....It is a pro-card qualifier for the mens this year (INBF). Unfortunately, I've decided not to compete this yr....a lot of personal things going on. I think you will definitely be able to compete for that pro-card......I'm interested to see how you structure your diet.
I'll definitely be looking in on your prep.....

Try using a casein protein blend at night with a slice of lowfat cheese about 1.5-2hrs before bed. It has been working for me and I do not feel hungry upon waking.

BBlinebacker......is that the show in Binghampton? What about the one on the 4th in Syracuse? I was planning on going to either the Syracuse or Binghampton show to watch.
What are the other two possible shows? I am going to compete in an ABA show in Pittsford (Rochester), NY on Nov 1. I MIGHT do the NGA show on Oct. 25th out of Buffalo.
Oh...and, good luck. Pics look great!

Hey man, actually just saw your posts about not doing the shows, that's cool though man. A kid, that's so awesome, congratulations. Family is so incredibly important, I'd have made the same move. Just think, even more time to grow as well. I'll PM you my cell #, if ya want we'll have to catch a lift one of these days and you could critique my posing. Take care bro and God-bless.

update
Hey everyone. Just dropping in for an update. Spent all day yesterday sick as a dog... got about 10 extra hours of sleep just by sleeping the entire day and still felt like trash today. Needless to say, yesterday and today have become off-days. On a better note, bf% test as of today was 5.69%... kind of worried that it all maybe happening to quickly although my calories haven't dropped and I haven't done much for cardio yet. Currently looking at another show to possibly hit if I am ready which will be Oct4th and is a USBF pro qualifier. Quick question for the experts out there though, how tough is it to hold conditioning for doing multiple shows? I don't plan anything drastic to hit stage for any shows, just letting the diet and cardio bring it all in but what would your recommendations be to maintain throughout those weeks inbetween shows? Thanks again everyone, I hope all is well with all of you and that your training is going as planned.

Hey BB....looks like my friend "JimmyChitwood" (on this forum) and I will be heading out to Binghamton to watch this show. Im using it as a learning tool because my first show will be two weeks later in Buffalo. It would be cool to catch up with you at some point to pick your brain on contest stuff.
Good luck!

Update
Whats up Boz... sorry about no recent updates or activity. I am still definately on track for this show, down at 190-191 with just under 3 1/2 weeks to go. I'm hoping to be just above 185 come show day. I've got striations starting to come into play in my glutes, vascularity all over the place even in my legs at some points. Cross striations forming in my vastus medialus and slightly elsewhere. I'll try to get pics up soon but I can't seem to get decent photos at all. Pics will be coming soon though. Got over that fricken week of being sick and it actually may have worked out for the better. Viral infection, what a load of crap. Anyways, hope everyone else is doing well. As for you Austrian, I'll be looking for you there. Shoot me a PM with a way to contact you once I am up there. As the weeks get closer and my work schedule remains miserable it may be tough to get on here a ton. Good luck to everyone else out there this season, get HUGE.

Great to hear you are still on track. I am def coming up for the show. Are you planning on staying somewhere or making a day trip? maybe i can drive up to you and either pick you up or drive with you the rest of the way.
let me know your plans.
Sounds like you're going to steal the show man! I can't wait to see some progress pics.
I know you're schedule is crazy busy but maybe we can hang out before the show some time? I can critique your posing and take some pics. it will be just like Ohio all over again haha.
Stay Strong,
-Boz

I competed in three shows thusfar:
Oct 4th USBF Liberty State Natural Syracuse, NY(pro qualifier)
1st place Jrs
2nd place open light heavy
Oct 11th I got talked into doing the USBF NYS VIII in Binghamton, NY (pro-qualifier)
1st place open light heavy weight
***Open Overall Champ*** (deferred the pro-card, didnt feel there were enough seasoned competitors, wanted to win at a bigger show)
Oct 25th NYS INBF Bodybuilding and Figure Championships (pro qualifier) Poughkeepsie, NY
1st place Jrs
1st place open middleweights
***Open OVERALL Champ*** won WNBF pro card!!! I'll get some pictures posted as soon as possible... I've got one more show to do for the season and it is in 2 weeks...
USBF Jr. Nationals/Baltimore Pro-Am... Going for the Jr national title as well as a stab at the USBF pro-card from a larger show

1st place open light heavy weight
***Open Overall Champ*** (deferred the pro-card, didnt feel there were enough seasoned competitors, wanted to win at a bigger show)
Oct 25th NYS INBF Bodybuilding and Figure Championships (pro qualifier) Poughkeepsie, NY
1st place Jrs
1st place open middleweights
***Open OVERALL Champ*** won WNBF pro card!!! Jim Cordova was one of the judges and was our guesst poser, nothing beat having him look at me from the judging panel giving me a nod of approval and a thumbs up while posing... I'll get some pictures posted as soon as possible... I've got one more show to do for the season and it is in 2 weeks...
USBF Jr. Nationals/Baltimore Pro-Am... Going for the Jr national title as well as a stab at the USBF pro-card from a larger show

Huge Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!
Very ballsy move deferring that pro-card, but also very classy to want to earn it and a bigger show. Much respect!!!!
Looking forward to hearing about your future pro debut- put any thoughtinto that one yet??????????
