Feet shift when squatting

When I squat my left foot always shifts outwards. It doesn't hurt to squat this way, but it doesn't seem natural. I always make sure to have my feet positioned correctly before I squat, but they still move. My friend's got the same problem. Any input?

If your feet are moving during the squat you're doing something wrong.

Define positioning your feet "correctly." Whenever I try to make my feet parallel they naturally shift to pointing outwards (like my natural stance), and most "how to squat" pages recommend an outward-facing feet stance.

Outwards is less taxing on the knees.. at least in my experiences.
