as much as alot of trainers will disagree...well some done but i don't always take initial measurements. some of my clients just have specific goals and i haven't always found doing the whole bodyfat and whole protocol to be necessary...not to mention some people don't want to! I do have a few we track and keep on but I get to know each of my clients the program becomes individualized to them and their needs and i go from there. i have them fill out their par-q and consent forms and then we talk. talk history, talk present, future, start the workout and throw in exercises to help me assess their strength, cordination, endurance, etc. and then go from there.
again alot of people will disagree but it's the personal in personal training that alot of people forget about and although measurements are great to as references and starting points/ check points and a good system to go by i have come to find through experience if results are coming your clients know it; they feel it; and some do need that physcial proof but most just want to train with you to better themselves and they know same as you or i would know if our bodies were changing. we are our own worst critics.
