Keto will be great for you. I've done every stupid diet out there and keto is the only one that let me lose weight and feel healthy. And without starving.
At this stage, keep your carbs low (lots of green veg and that's it) and don't worry about carb-ups or carb cycling. When you start serious weight training, then you can do carb-ups etc.
Base your diet on fresh meat, fish, eggs and lots of green veg. Don't be afraid to cook in butter and add olive oil to your salads. No fake or processed food, no net carb junk.
Eat when you are hungry and stop eating as soon as you are not hungry. Don't bother counting calories at this stage.
Since eating is a habit for most people, I'd suggest you develop some new habits to keep your hands and mind busy so that you don't eat by reflex. If you were female, I'd suggest cross-stitching, keeps hands busy and you don't want to get food on your work. I kind of like brain training games, and clipping research articles from BB magazines.
Make a deal with yourself that you will only eat at the table, and with the television off. When you are eating, concentrate on the food. Eat slowly and savour it. There is some very tasty food on keto, you might as well get to enjoy it.
Keep track of your blood work, you'll be amazed at how a diet with lots of fat, including lots of saturated fat, will improve all your risks for heart disease.
