Foods causing acne?
I have noticed that i have seen a lot more acne on my body lately (torso - shoulders and back mainly).
I am pretty sure i started noticing it more ever since i began my cut?? Can anyone think of any explanation for this - for example are there any foods or having a lack of any sort of foods cause an increase in levels of acne?
I eat clean whether i am bulking or cutting btw.. only real difference is a big increase in the amount of eggs i eat and i am eating more fat and less carbs... apart from that just less calories.
Cheers
Rory

Some people say food does nothing but it could be dairy products your eating, it may just be that your body is adapting to your new eating habits, sometimes this happens to me.

i've dealt with acne for a long time now. and basically the only food i've seen affect it is eggs. strange to me it's not ALL dairy. i assume it may be some kind of hormone in the chicken or what not, i have no idea.
if you're eating a lot of eggs, try cutting back to about one a day, and you may see some improvements. it sucks, i know, because if there is any "miracle" or "magic" food, it's eggs. but i guess it's about what's more important to ya.

Acne is one of your body's ways of maintaining its balance by ridding of the toxins that you take in through many forms (foods, air, skin products, etc). Foods are a major part of "creating" acne for yourself. Red meats, dairy, and non-nutritious foods are a large contributor to acne. I used to have a problem myself, but a diet change (not only for the acne, but for health) and a close watch of what you eat will be the best way to help clear up your skin. Herbal liquid vitamins may also help- Burdock root is great for ridding of the toxins!
oh and if your taking creatine- make sure your buying some decent stuff-- its been said that fillers found in creatines can cause acne too

Healthy, Grass-fed red meat will in no way contribute to acne in the vast majority of the population. I'm not aware of anyone being allergic to red meat, but I guess it's possible.

I dunno I had crazy cystic acne for years so couldn't pinpoint one thing.
But I'd say oats and dairy seemed to do damage

Ive had acne problems since i was 14. Bad ones too.
22 days ago i created a diet plan to bulk and get rid of acne.
The Diet plan has worked on both accounts. Ive had little to no acne at all times.
The diet has cut dairy entirely, but I eat about 10 eggs a day. This is proof enough that Eggs do not cause acne for me.

Water is all i drink
as far as meat goes, Mostly Chicken and Turkey. ( I believe red meats to be a cause of acne but i still eat them on occasion)
Bread has to be whole wheat. No white breads. They cause acne.
Dairy = no.
Fast Foods = no.
Junk Foods = no.
Processed foods = no.
Keep your diet simple.
Meat(Mostly White), Eggs, Water, Fruits, Whole Wheat Bread, Vegetables.
I wrote down what I ate 3 days ago:
2x Chicken Breasts
A Steak
A Ham + Turkey Sandwich
A Peanut Butter Sandwich (Organic Peanut butter)
2x Chicken drumsticks
11 Raw Eggs
Serving of Potatoes with gravy
Peas+Green Beans
8x Bananas
Many Strawberries
6x Scoops of Whey
A Protein Bar

Puberty. You're 19. Hormones are pretty strong.
Remember, a pimple usually takes almost a month to form. So if you change your diet and notice less (or more) acne in a couple days, you're probably experiencing the placebo effect.

Acne comes and goes. It sucks. Try not to do anything extreme to exacerbate it, like washing yourself too much.

Excessive nuts can increase acne.
So if you eat a lot of PB it could be it.

The only food that I have found to cause me to break out badly has been milk. I was drinking whatever crap they had at walmart for a while and I was breaking out like crazy, but since I switched brands my skin has cleared up. BTW, I don't have "acne" per say, just break outs here and there. Also, I notice that if I OD on multi-vitamins then I will get a huge pimple somewhere on my back... its strange, but since I started breaking my multis in half and having half in the morning and the other half during the day I don't get them anymore. Who knows... a lot of people argue that food has no affect on acne, but I don't agree. Acne.org has a ton of info on there as well if you want to read up on it.

I've started breaking out recently (past 2 months.) My skin has become very oily (never had any issues before), my "T" zone is the only place I've broken out. The only thing that's changed for me is the addition of junk carbs, lack of cardio, and addition of stress.
I've knocked out caffeine, milk, carbs, fats, multi; nothing works. I've tried pantothenic acid too. Someone brought up creatine, but I doubt there is any correlation.
My guess it's just a hormonal imbalance that will pass. Has your skin become oily?

Though SOME people seem to have food triggers, the link between diet and acne is pretty weak and poorly understood.
My vote without knowing anything is SUMMER. Hot, sweaty, etc... I always have more pimples on my shoulders/back during the summer months.

Is it true that if you put yourself out in the sun more, your acne dercreases (for just tanning, no sweat). I mean think about it, alot of tan people have great acne free skin.

It is true that UV radiation reduces acne.
But the trade-off is probably not worth it (aging, skin cancer).

Tanning does help acne, tanning bed that is... Their are studies that prove it.
