All Russia is doing is defending it's ally.
That small group of people broke away from Georgia in the early 90's and want to be recognized as an independent country. Russia recognizes this and is defending them. Georgia is the greedy aggressor and they don't want to let the country be by themselves but instead be under Georgian rule.
I can't believe Russia is actually the innocent one in the conflict.

Georgia didn't "invade" South Ossetia, it is already part of Georgia. They are simply exerting their control over their own territory. Russia sent them passports, it's clear that Russia wants to engulf that area into itself. Don't be fooled!

They have been de facto independent from Georgia for 17 years. Yes, it is an invasion. That the UN hasn't recognised Ossetia as independent is irrelevant - it's still an invasion.
