I was working out at the gym 2 days ago doing chest exercises and every time I lifted the weights I felt a slight pain in my left shoulder. At this point it was not painful enough for me to stop working out so I continued. After I concluded the workout I got home and the pain increased ten fold. I couldn't do anything that required the use of my left shoulder, couldn't lift anything, couldn't even take my shirt off without feeling a pain. I'm thinking I pulled a muscle but then again I havn't had enough injuries to tell for sure. Now today I still feel the pain, I thought it would be gone by now yet it still remains.
Tomorrow I am going to go on a week long camping trip and the injury would really ruin the whole weekend. Do injuries like this pass in time?

deep muscle massage will help alot along with an ICE massage. Take dixie cup fill with water freeze peel the dixie cup back after frozen and use the paper side to hold the ice in cup and massage the area couple times a day. Prevention look into postural exercises I know boring and tedious but with shoulder and neck or chest injuries most caused by poor posture or a weak structure due to an inbalance. We all have it in some areas of are bodies so get some postural exercises. Work Rhomboids as they are key in keeping shoulders back and chest extended.

It's impossible to tell what's wrong. But regardless, icing the area will help dramatically.
Place a wet cloth on your shoulder and the put the ice pack on top of that. Leave it on for 20 minutes or until the area goes numb, whichever comes first. Repeat this up to once per hour.
