Should we have a Science and Philosophy Section?
Poll
Note - This is much different from Religion and Politics, and I feel it would be a great welcome for those who love talking science, and not politics.

Hell yes, i always want to learn about things that are going on in the scientific world that i am unaware of and never know where to look. A science section here with serious discussion (which is virtually impossible in the misc) would be great.

Yep.
Plus R/P is completely different from S/Ph. I hate talking about politics for example, but I would be in the science threads constantly

i voted yes, but i think that would just limit the discussion, much like the religion and politics section, which i never go into.
so can i change my vote?

There is still some discussion about religion in the misc occassionally but it doesnt focus on specific things...thats why its the misc.
i would like to be able to read a scientific post without people making jokes about random ****.

we'll get separated from the misc because we, the ones who care, will spend all our time there.
the topics won't get nearly the same amount of attention they get here, because again, it'll only be us in there.
threads will move extremely slowly, and you might have to wait about a half an hour for a reply
i dunno...again, i voted for it, but i'm skeptical

Agree. I dont think it will be limitted at all. Take the supplement science section for example. That sub-forum is tightly regulated, yet there are very good scientific discussions that occur.
Now think of that, but not limitted to supplements.

When you say limit the discussion, normally in the misc; the first page can completely change in a matter of seconds. For me, this is just too much and I would love for some of it to be filtered down into more relevant subsections.
And also because there is just general discussion going on in the general front page, any serious thread will just get blown to shreds with (not complaining, I love the misc) silly comments. Like I just said, I'm not against stupid / random comments cause alot of the time, they're hilarious; but it would be nice to have a little less of it when discussing something you find interesting.

Also; you don't have to spend all of your time in there, and I don't think there'd be a shortage of people.

just a hard science section that is monitored closely by mods for psuedo science, because this will curt tail into autistic members like syriankid and hoosierboy wanting to about their invisible friend systems, etc. No philosophy. You can get philosophical in the R&P, that's a better place for it.

Lol, God isn't nearly the most mentioned when it comes to psuedo science.
Get realistic.

No. We should be able to discuss such topics seriously in the Misc, and move the misc drama/social bs/4chan/callouts nonsense to its own subsection.

Voted no. The misc pulls dual duty as a science & philosophy discussion forum.
BTW, how can you mix science and philosophy?
