Bone Density and Body Weight?

I am fairly new to BBing.com and was recently wondering how much bone density factors into someones body weight?

At 17 I broke my hip (femoral neck) playing high school soccer and barely avoided a full hip replacement....however i did have to have two titanium screws put in....long story short the surgeon informed me i had the strongest bones he had ever seen. He broke three drill bits trying to drill into my hip bone. He also went through two power packs for the drills during the surgery.

Whenever i ask ppl how much they think i weigh it always comes back to be 190ish but i am 219 at this point. So i was just wondering. Any input????

The average human has about 20lbs of bones. A lot less than most people think.

Most lifters have above average bone density because lifting helps increase the density.

In truth it is not that much of a factor but technically it does increase your weight.

Being overweight tends to result in denser bones as long as you are actually mobile and exercising. So does lifting weights. Dieting in general tends to reduce bone density unless you take aggressive steps to make sure you don't lose bone.

The difference in weight between dense and fragile bones is pretty small, certainly nothing like the sort of difference you are talking about. The relative amounts of muscle and fat would make a much bigger difference to your weight.

Don't get hung-up on weight.

If you're dropping clothes size and looking smaller and more buffed in the mirror - everything else should not matter.
