cuz thats how i feel. i've been working out sence i was 15 regurley. obviously when you start your not gonna do anything right. i started out kinda chubby. but i leaned out a bit and got a little muscle. but then i began to go overboard on a bulk just eating junk and my workout intensity slipped. then i tried to cut and lost all the muscle and strenght i had. then i bulked the wrong way again. ate to much but workouts were more intense/heavy. and now i'm cutting again, finally the right way. but i've never even had a succesfull bulk so i won't even look that good when i'm done cutting. so that is where i am almost 3 years later. feel like i've just wasted my time over the last few years, and i don't even look like i workout.
anyone else like this?

Well for one thing your 6'4 ? It will be harder for you to fill any gaps or even start filling up your muscles since they are longer than someone my height or just under 6'. Which sucks for you but your muscle will be good once they start getting larger. You must eat healthy protein carbs and fats. Your only 17 as well. I know its hard for a teenager to do anything bodybuilding wise. Keep trying and progessing each time. Thats what I do. I progress each time I diet or bulk up or something. I just take time and realize what I need to do to better myself

i have troubles bulking, too. However, if you have a good routine for your body, it will show results indefinitely. Especially with someone of your size. Hell take a look at my progress pictures. Once I found a workout good for my body with more in tune exercises, I made great progress within about a month. I don't have tons of anything, but again it was only about a month that I've been doing it.
Like you, I had tried working out with little persuasion for the last year or two failing repeatedly.
What kind of workout do you have?

yea thats true. and i've got a better diet down now. but i'm to fat to bulk.
my workout now is like this
day 1 chest and tris
day 2 back and bis
day 3 shoulders and forearms
day 4 legs.
i do mostly compound like bench, squat, deads, row ect... and i jump rope inbetween some of the sets. and plus i walk in the morning before breakfast. my workouts are a lot more intense now and i always break a good sweat.
oh and my workouts aren't on consecutive days. i take rest days inbetween. they just change every week cuz of work.

right now i feel like im wasting time, but thats because im cutting and i just look smaller and people are asking me if i stopped working out and stuff it just pisses me off. But its my fault because i over bulked and was way too fat, hopefully i have only 3-4 weeks left on my cut. This cut just wont end. Im just used to being bigger than everyone else, but with my shirt off people just wont leave me alone and always asking for advice.
Just cant wait to bulk again. But clean bulk this time.Last edited by gmenfan40; 08-04-2008 at 08:27 AM.

I tried for 2 years to break records in my school, forcing myself to stay under 125 lbs. because i doubted I could ever bench in the 220s and squat in the 260s
wooo i wasted that much time to have my name up on a board that i never even got to see go up and will probably never be respected for it other than by the lower class men who knew me, when instead i could have been bbing / power lifting, getting bigger AND breaking more of the big records.
Fact: ~4 months after I stopped trying to break records and came here, learned what the ufcck I was doing I was benching 230 when I thought i could never bench in the 230s.
Fact: The same amount of time my squat put on about 60 lbs and if I cut off 10 lbs. and retained some strength i could have easily broken records in the 130s and 140s
Had I starting bbing / powerlifting when i was trying to break those stupid records i could have filled up that whole god damn record board (not really but jesus) and been huge ... but my mindset kept me from beleiving I could
