For those who want the works and have the deep pockets to back it up. Damn this design is nice with lots of potential add-ons. What gets me is the 1" hole spacings. There are SO many exercises such as behind the neck close grip presses etc where I could use these with. Oh the possiblilities.
nice, wish my powertec rack had those 1" spaces
as well as the built in weight hangers.

A TRUE BEAST of a rack with almost unlimited add on options. If price was no barrier THIS would be my rack of choice.

Yeah my ProSpot has 1" spacing and it's nice, much tighter than my Body Solid rack, which are 2" spacing(3" on center).

I agree,I almost bought one used. The guy said he'd make it worth my while and I drove all the way to Maine. After I got there and looked at it he told me he wouldn't take less than 2 grand, which isn't much less than new. What a douche bag. That was why I originally joined this forum,my first post was looking for info on this rack before I drove up there.

    Red face

Alright everyone I have to take my ass to bed for a few hours so that's it for me right now. But I saw many, many upper commercial grade racks for $1500 and up that I did not list because I don't pay attention to anything in that high price range. But for you die hard spenders feel free to list some of those types as well

I look forward to seeing some of you guy's power rack finds when I wake up. See ya in a bit.

Now that the Powertec rack is $500 a lot of other racks that seemed expensive before are suddenly economically feasible. That's a 50% jump in price, although it was underpriced before.

Yep. Both powertec and tds have upped their prices substantially as of late. They now are in the upper midrange market with such names as bodysolid, bodycraft, keys fitness, etc. And to be honest I'm not sure they measure up.

    Nautilus Power Cage

    http://www.bigfitness.com/napoca.html

Though it's a bit pricy for a midrange rack you know you will always be getting quality equipment with nautilus and this one has all the bells and whistles as expected.

2" hole spacing allows for correct pre-stretch for different sized users and all lifts
Dual spotters increase safety for cage exercises
Unique bar angle allows for multiple-grip chin-ups
    Dimensions: 62" x 51" x 85"
    Weight: 211 lbs

I am a power rack nut, but I lean towards the commercial stuff, specifically the Magnum line with the sliding bench
Because you can actually use this rack for everything with the bench able to do flat, incline, and military off the back rack. It locks into the base too, so no sliding

You have to make this a sticky. I believe there should be stickies for almost everything on here. Like benches, racks, weights, bars especially. Another idea is to attach pics on the posts with IMG tags and links together. Just an idea...

Well the problem with that is the links will become outdated and no longer work after a time. Hence why I called this thread the 2008 edition. There was another power rack thread here a few years ago with some excellent links but none of them work now. So this is something we will have to revamp every year since websites go down, companies go out of business, new models come out, etc.

You can never have too many options my good friend. Isn't it mind boggling. Hence why we all suffer from cage envy every now and again and are always eager to uprgrade.

First off, Awesome thread DD, just when I thought I basically had a grasp on all the racks out, you prove me wrong!

And now I'm going to post up the Powerline Power Rack. Definitely not loved by all, due to its price. $299 from bb.com w/ free shipping. Toss in the 10% code and you can get a new rack for under $300.
    http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/bsolid/ppr200.html

    Dimensions are as follows 82"H x 44"L x 46"W

I don't own this rack, so I won't give a thorough review, but I had a chance to take a look at couple stores. If you're in a money crunch, and are starting off with lifting, and there is NO used racks near by.

Then I'd say why not, its definitely something you'll grow out of. I thought the construction was a little shakey. And I haven't had experience with the Optional Lat Attachment, but it looks a little cheap from pics. Maybe someone can chime in on the Pulley smoothness.

But hey, if this gets to start lifting. And you feel you have "maxed" out the rack, at least with your own comfort level. Well then I think it can be a decent investment. But as you see many racks in this thread, with a lot more solid construction that are definitely worth saving up a few extra "pennies" and keeping rather than getting something you won't be happy with.

Truthfully, look at how long you want to have it.
if it needs to last, you need to save another few hundred $$

    Muscle Maxx Pro Rack

    http://www.power-systems.com/p-3426-...ower-rack.aspx

2-1/2" x 2-1/2" steel frame. Adjustable bar hooks and solid steel safety catches. 17 height adjustments, from 14" to 78" in 4" increments. Crosspieces bolt on in minutes. Inside cage measures 44" W x 24" D. Wide lat bar mounted on top for added chinning station. 43" L x 48" W x 92" H

Another decent midrange rack made of 2 1/2" square tubing. Good pullup bar in front and the build looks very solid for the price.

Lowest price I could find on the tds base model 92563 rack.

    http://www.pacillo.com/detail.asp?product=651

Comes out to $362 shipped. This was a great rack when I had it with a simple and easy to use design. I miss it so much I am even contemplating on buying another one. It comes with a 1 and half inch thick pullup bar up front. It's measurements are 82" tall, 48" wide, and 42" deep. Made of 2" square tubing.
