Military members...
Together we served now has all 4 branches of the military up an running. This is a great way to stay in touch with all your brothers and sisters in arms that you serve/served with. They just got the Army site up and running....

Sounds like an awesome site. I've only been in the AF for 2 and a half years now so I haven't really lost touch with anyone yet but I can see this coming in handy later. Thanks for the link.

After 6 years in, if you become that close with someone, take down their information and keep talking to them, go visit them on leave, don't join a website, most of them surrounding the military are gimmicks.

After over 20 years in....this does not always work. You will lose contact with some good friends you make in the military...its a fact of life. This web site is not a gimmick. It is run by retired military members for military members. You dont want to join, then dont. I do not get anything either way. This is just a good site to keep in touch or find some friends you may have lost contact with.

I have got back in contact with two guys I went to Basic with in 1980 and several guys I lost touch with after just a few years ago. Again, like you said a greta site.

There isn't an "appeal". It's something that needs to be done. You don't have to worry about it appealing to you because other people will pick up the slack. They suffer so you don't have to.
Edit: Didn't see you were from the UK. I'd imagine it's the same concept though.

Of course theres an appeal. Why would people go into the military if they didn't want to?

7 years army. I'm staying in the active reserve now. Theres no appeal for most just the chance to stand for something more than yourself. A chance to pay for your own freedom....If thats an appeal there it is. Also at a time of war i couldn't set by and let some one else fight for me. Kind of like letting someone else take care of your family. I choose to take care of my own.
